The safe is better than I expected. It's not by any means Fort Knox but for security and keeping people honest it's great. Didn't buy the fireproof model just the steel version. Lock work's great as I only use the key entry at the moment. Looks sturdy to mount it but I'm in a apartment so no mounting. And like I said easy accessibility. Would recommend this safe to anyone. Especially for the value of price.

I didn’t know what to expect buying a safe from Amazon, however I have been pleasantly surprised with this thing! It was easy to set up the code initially and comes with two physical keys in case you forget the code or the battery dies or something like that. Locking mechanism seems thick/strong. It comes with large lag bolts to be mounted to the wall or ground, I have yet to do that, but would probably be wise as it’s pretty small and can be carried away.

This is one of those purchases that is very surprising, in a good way. Was expecting this to be an Amazon special and rather average. This is a fairly well designed and built safe. Heavy and solid. Lock mechanism works well and the key backup is a great idea. Surprising amount of room inside. I would put the security level of this at 5 out of 10. Great for ammo and equipment storage but I wouldn't rely on it for handgun storage. Would highly recommend!

Great safe for the price. I purchased a safe the same size, and very similar somewhere else for more than twice the cost. I modified it for looks and more compacity. Modification cost was about $20. I would purchase again, if needed

Ignore the people who wrote bad reviews about this safe. First of all I purchased the 1.8 cubic feet safe. Now, let me give you an honest real review. Every safe, especially of this small of a size, WILL NOT BE PERFECT. Check the reviews to every single safe you find on Amazon, or elsewhere, and there will be quite a few of reviews “safe broken into” “safe can be opened using blank” etc. there is no perfect safe. Safes are used to store important documents, firearms, or whatever else. There is no safe that is absolutely inaccessible to random people. Burglars are not showing up to your house with tools to break into your safe, they are looking for an easy way to get into the safe easily. All safes are NOT perfect. This safe is built well, looks good, good size, you can set any code from 4-8 digits, set up is really easy, and programming it is easy. It does the job, it locks, it doesn’t open easily, it has quite a lot of space, and no complaints. The locking system DOES NOT, unlock randomly, it has stayed lock, and I tried very basically to just get it to unlock, and it has not malfunctioned. It’s a good starter safe for simple storage. There is no fingerprint reader, but has backup keys, and to program the pin is easy.

Coffre-fort correspondant parfaitement à mes attentes. Il semble bien robuste et paraît vouloir resister à de nombreuses tentatives d'ouverture forcée. Cependant une petite critique : les écrous et vis fournis pour fixer ce coffre au sol ou à un mur ne sont pas du tout adaptés. Il a fallu simplement pratiquer un scellement chimique pour obtenir satisfaction. C'est un produit que je recommande pour protéger les valeurs de famille.

Needed to buy a cabinet safe and looked on Amazon. I found this Amazon Basics steel safe and at £100 thought it looked like a great entry level safe. Took the risk of purchasing and since it arrived I have not had any issues. Everything was in the box, nothing missing, no damage to safe either. The electronic keypanel for setting up a code (3 to 8 digits) was extremely easy to follow. Also the two safe keys supplied worked fine. They are initially a little tight to push in but if you're gentle enough shouldn't have any problems gaining access to the safe if the batteries for the electronic side are exhausted. The only downside I found is that the electronics of the keypanel entry does protrude into the safe space which means you can't place items too far forward towards the safe door as the keypanel housing pushes on to your stored items. However I can live with that. For the price it is value for money and a wonderful entry level safe. Of course burglars could steal it if not secured to wall or floor, they could carry it away, even though it is heavy. For me just nice to have that extra layer of security on items that need protecting.
