Alright
This book carries the American system of mathematics. So if u from Britain or any other, you may or may not understand their way of working out math in this book. I'm from Britain and have been taught math differently to this book.

Helpful for those who struggle with math
This was helpful in making dosage calculation easier to understand. I have some fellow students struggling with the medical math aspect and after borrowing this book, they did much better. It's a great resource when going through Pharm.

Sexist as hell, but teaches math
This review is for the 4th edition paperback.I just have to start by saying I'm dumbfounded at the amount of sexism in this book. Every doctor and pharmacist was referred to as 'he', and all the nurses as 'she'. What is this, 1952? Anyway, I was glad I got it because my BSN program didn't include a med-math class. We were required to buy a computer program which didn't go into enough detail for me. I am glad that I worked through this book, and I ended up becoming an unofficial math tutor to my classmates because of it. The first 100 pages or so teaches 6th-grade math (fractions, cross-multiply, ratios), and the rest of the book applies these concepts. I would have preferred more higher-level and critical-care practice problem: dimensional analysis, TPA (stroke protocol: which I've witnesses nurses struggle to administer in emergency situations). I would have also liked more on converting: mg to g and mcg and converting milliunits per minute to units per hour and so on. There just wasn't enough content in this book related to critical care. I'll just stay out of the ICU until I find a better book or class.

Very helpful!!
This books has been very helpful while I have been in nursing school. It's easy to follow and gives great examples for each chapter. I would really recommend purchasing it because you will find yourself referencing back to it throughout your time in nursing.
