Are Easy Clean Lids interchangeable between earlier earlier 20 oz stainless steel travel mugs? **Q: Just bought these and soaked tops in warm water, coffee still tastes like plastic/rubber will this go away?** A: We hand wash ours with dish soap and water, rinse thoroughly and then boil some hot water to blow out the top. This gets the crud out of the air holes under the lock. Now if I just had a replacement seal for around the lid, I'd be grand. I've had mine for about ten years...they definitely start to taste like whatever you put it in every day. With a daily rinse, it helps a ton. This was the winner. With this leak free AUTO SEAL mechanism , a Mercedes of coffee mugs. It was expensive too, minimum £25 so I decided to wait an order one on AMAZON US half the price including the delivery . I even ordered extra one for my partner. While I was waiting I bought a budget HIWILL Double Walled Vacuum Insulated Travel Coffee Mug, for ten pounds. I chose the smaller size for my son and was using it while waiting for Contigo. Yes it was too small for a large latte but leak proof and hot for hours!!! When contigo 2.0 arrived it was impressive but heavy. The auto seal works well and it's easy to clean. It's bigger than Hiwill but that's what I wanted, Unfortunately coffee loose the temperature very quickly. Having been using the hiwill I could feel huge difference. No more hot coffee on my desk when I arrive to work. So disappointed....I am considering sending them back , but it will be to US ... UPDATE: After few hit and misses with latte temperature and rinsing the cup with boiling water to make it hot I have no issues with the right temperature for at least 3 hours !
