Hearty
I have been searching for a canned chili I like for some time. Among prepared chilis I have tried and rejected are Hormel and Stagg and Campbell's and Amy's ... Armour and Nalley and Amy's black bean chili aren't bad. But to each his own, I just read a review that disagreed with my list 100%, putting all of my rejects at the top, so who knows.I like it a little tomatoe-y but not too much, piquant but not too too spicy, definitely not sweet. The texture of the protein is important to me. Not gravelly or grainy. And it should be fairly thick. This fits the bill.I've seen canned chilis come in a range of colors form orange to dark brown or even bright red. This one is definitely on the orange side, but at least doen't separate the way the store brand did. This has good firmness and texture and holds together well.I haven't tried Skyline or Wolf brand or Chili Man or any of the more esoteric versions without beans, and I'm not ready to invest in a case of Steak and Shake chili or Tony Packo, whatever that is, or any of these other more exotic offerings, especially untested, sight unseen. But I know what I like, and some more than others call to me while some sort of hiss "stay away." Although I am amused that Chef-mate comes in a 6 lb #10 can. That could literally feed an army. Curious. But I digress.Anyway ...Dennison's is good, hearty, flavorful, robust, perhaps even commendable, chili con carne with beans in a can. I've only tried one can so far, and that one I adulterated with shredded cheese and chili powder, but it was soooo good. I'm definitely going to get me some more. As of this writing the weather's getting colder and I'm craving warm foods. It's definitely starting to feel like it's chili season, folks.

Not a bad flavor palate for the price
Not bad for the price, less greasy than hornet, but more calories from fat? I don’t know how they did that. This chile seems less spicy also than the other brands and gives me less heart burn. YMMV due to your taste preference and physiology. My son mix and matches canned chiles with other ingredients like various peppers, onions, rice and spices to come up with dinner solution that are usually quite delicious.

Very good, a very slight aftertaste
This is a filling chili with lots of meat. The meat is soft and tasty. This is not a bad chili, but there is a very slight after taste from one of the ingredients that while isn't a deal breaker, it keeps it from being perfect. I cannot identify what the mystery ingredient is. This is so hearty that I often split a can with my wife and we pour it over Jasmine rice. I would highly recommend that people try this chili at least once, it is far superior to the canned chili brands offered in my local supermarket.

CHILI FLAVORED BEANS
Good flavor, packed can, but mostly bean. I didn't see but a couple pieces of meat. So if you like beans, this is fine.
