They are ment to cover the black grommets that the lights are held in with.They cover the grommet but do not keep the light all the way in or tight.They kept on coming loose which allowed the ring to giggle.I have 6 different 3/4 lights from different manufacturers. They only worked on 1.I'm stuck with them because I removed the protective cover.Check fitment before removing cover.
