engaging stories
this is on the more difficult side of the stage 3 books we have. the first 2 'phonics' based stories are quite difficult, but the second stories that are usually more difficult and focus on common words, were actually easier.

Great book
My daughter loves these books, and have kept her reading through school closures.

Great levelled reader
I bought this book, as my son was reading these at school and I thought the characters would be familiar. Don't get me wrong Biff, Chip and Kipper are not my thing but I think the stories really help children to read and Oxford University are really good at creating a consistent level reading scheme. The books are different to the ones he read at school when it was open but have the same character names hence making it easier for him to read. The book consists of 4 stories. 2 are Phonics based: Egg Fried Rice and Ice City, and two are stories for wider reading: Looking after Gran, and Mountain Rescue. The phonics stories are written in line with the phonics the children are learning at school. The 3rd and 4th stories are for wider reading and use everyday reading to help children broaden their reading experience. I started by getting my son to read the first two and then move on to the 3rd and 4th as the stories are slightly longer. The text is at the bottom of each page so you can point your finger at each word without covering up the picture which is super important for my child. I would certainly recommend this book and try mixing it up with other books in the range.

AWFUL DELIVERY BY HERMES
Book is fine, very useful for reinforcing phonics and reading at home. However delivery by HERMES is AWFUL. They never deliver to the correct flat, and I have to rely on the goodness of neighbours to retrieve the parcel.
