Yes, it will be fine after the full cure time of two weeks.

Does this product penetrate like a mineral oil or does it have some body to it? Does it sit on the surface to give almost a polyurethane finished look

It is a penetrating natural oil finish that leaves a wax micro-film layer on the surface. It gives more of a natural oil look with the forgiveness similar to polyurethane.
