Frabill F2 Surge Rainsuit Jacket

I was looking to get a nice rain jacket and get one quick for a bass tournament in Oshkosh, WI. Weather called for 40mph winds, rain, and temps hovering around 40 degrees. So after looking at some videos on this jacket I decided to take advantage of Prime and pick up this jacket.Now, let me be clear first - I did not use this jacket out in the field, so cannot comment on its functionality. However, the jacket really seemed to be a great quality piece. The water tight pockets were awesome, the larger than usual zipper pulls were fantastic, and the double weather flap on the main zipper seemed to be a really good feature.In the end I ended up returning the jacket though and using my Patagonia Storm jacket that arrived just in time for my event. The problem with the Frabill was the sizing. I am about 5'-8" tall and wear a dress shirt size 15-32-33, have a chest of about 36-38, and a waist of 30-32. I opted for the Small which is in line with the sizing featured on Frabill's website. The jacket fit well throughout my arms and chest, HOWEVER, the jacket was VERY SHORT. My t-shirt underneath was showing below the bottom line of the jacket so when I sat down, the jacket rode up even further.Overall: The jacket has a lot of potential, but look into getting your normal size in a Tall.

I bought this jacket primarily for fishing but I'm wearing it every rainy day. It's cut pretty large, the XL is big on me at 6'3" 200 lb. The hood takes some getting used to but I do like the bill on the hood, nice touch. Zippers all have pull rings for one hand operation. Velcro closures on the cuffs keep water out and close securely over gloves. Zero leakage after a half day in medium heavy rain. Mesh liner is great for freedom of movement and overall comfort. A pretty good jacket a a fair price vs. Simms, Patagonia etc.

It's a stylish design, The reviews were good so I got it. I like the rain gutter or I would call it a flap over the pocket zipper. The visor on the hood is a great design too. I'm returning it because I hate velcro on the front zipper flap and cuffs. A flap never keeps water out unless it has a water tight zipper which it does not. The velcro is always catching when you put it on the front flap, usually out of alignment and the cuffs have to be readjusted every time you put your hands through the sleeves to keep water out. Vecro was not mentioned in the website description or I would not have wasted my time. I've had to ask twice now for a prepaid return invoice and they keep telling me to return it (at my own expense) and they will offer a refund. I may downgrade this to one star if the customer service does not improve.

This is a very nice jacket. Used it in SC heavy rain right out of the package for two days... GREAT! It is a bit warm for summer use however. I'm sure it could be used during a good summer rain and keep you comfortable in the South. I ordered the 2XL and it is PLENTY big; I could easily wear two or more layers under this and be perfectly warm in the winter fishing or hunting. I would also think it is good for motorcycling but the hood is not detachable, it is thin enough to fit under a helmet.

Even though it's just a shell it gets very warm when kayaking. I wear a long sleeve wicking shirt, an thin fleace and the rain jacket and I am too warm in 40 degree weather. The pockets are great and I haven't leaked yet. I tipped my kayak over and put half my body in the water and only a little water went up my sleeve. I was surprised at how dry I managed to stay after tipping over.

Looks like it will be a great jacket. Not the fanciest one on the market but can't beat the price. Good buy. Have yet to wear it in the rain but if it keeps the water out it will be a 5!

This fits a little big but not to much. Since it's thin you can wear a jacket under it and still have room to maneuver. It's great to take on the boat when it looks like rain.

Worked great stayed dry after 6 hours on the fishing pier in pretty heavy downpours would give it a 5 but zippers were a bit hard to zip and unzip on the pockets

Horrible quality, crotch ripped open in first week of use. Good In terms of waterproof but otherwise crap.

J'ai étrenné le manteau le 15 mai dernier (2016) dans la région de Portneuf (Qc), j'ai dû affronter à peu près tous les intempéries cette journée.Pluie, verglas et pour terminer la journée de la neige à grand ciel... le manteau et les salopettes m'ont gardé bien au sec et au chaud.

Have not used it yet. It's nice and light, if it's waterproof it will be great!
