The calcium inhibitor filter protects your misting systems by preventing potentially clogging solid sediments from passing through the system. It filters our particles as small as 5 microns, which is smaller than a human hair. Additionally, the filter coats smaller particulates with polyphosphates that enable easier passage through nozzles without forming blockages. Annual filter replacement is recommended and will prolong the life of mist nozzles.

Works great to reduce calcium when refilling my pool!
We have very hard water here in Arizona and it’s not so nice to swim in (it also results in mineral buildup around the pool). I performed a drain and refill recently and thought I’d put one of these on the end of the hose when I refill the pool with the hope that it would reduce the calcium levels. After doing so, I had the calcium levels checked and they are about half what they’d normally be.Given the high flow rate of this filter, I wasn’t sure what to expect but am very pleased with the result.I know this is an unconventional use for this filter, but wanted to share as it might help others who have the same issue with hard water in their pools.Oh, this filter traps sediment, too. It captured quite a bit of it. Overall, I put 5000 gallons through a single filter. Not sure how much life it has left after that as is it isn’t rated by # of gallons.

Plastic Very Leaky
Took 4 wraps of pipe seal tape to stop the plastic fitting from leaking. Will possibly update at a later date if I truly notice a reduction in calcium buildup.

A word of caution
The product worked as advertised. The odd issue I had was that I had a leaded Glass table top in the area where the mist was reaching. I noticed that the glass looked like it was dusty and when I moved a coaster and a TV remote that was sitting on the glass it was perfectly clear underneath those areas. I tried to wipe off the glass but it was obvious that the deionized water had etched ever so slightly etched the glass in the table. Certainly wasn’t a problem with the filter. To be honest I just didn’t realize that was leaded glass. I never really knew this could even happen if it hadn’t happened to me.

Found soooo many uses for...
I have severely hard water from the city here (the calcium) that will turn your coffee pot innards white!! I have put these before my washer and dryer (yes, dryer uses water too), the ice maker in the freezer, and my garden watering misters. Everything has worked perfectly without the smallest hint of water spots (calcium buildup) for a year!!! The city should be required to supply these!!!!!!

broke and prevented water flow
My misting system stopped working and this was the point of failure. From what I can tell there is a plastic ring inside that broke inwards and prevents water flow. This may be from over tightening to prevent leaking, but then the problem is that it leaks easily. Going to try to replace it with another brand.Annoyingly, this stopped working just after the refund period.

A Must for Misters
Extends the life of your mister nozzles, eventually you'll need to replace clogged nozzles and clean in vinegar, but they last considerably longer than if used without this filter. We run our mister line (12 nozzles) for the last 2+ months for at least 4-6 hrs daily. Only one nozzle has stopped misting during this time. Previously we could only go 3 days without one or more nozzles stopping. Well worth the investment imho

Protects my mister from clogging with minerals.
I bought a 30 foot mister with very fine nozzles that need to stay clear to work. The seller recommended this to keep the system working properly. Best 13 bucks I ever spent.
