Great Economical Solenoid Valve
I purchased this solenoid valve and have been using it now for a little over three weeks in a water pipe application with a thermostatic controller. The quality of the valve is excellent and its functionality is reliable. Mine operates once "on" and once "off" for a total of 6-9 hours "on" time, 7 days a week during the summer (May thru Sept). The solenoid valve is easily disassembled and each of the three main components appear to be easily replaced. Mine did not come with any instructions, but it seemed pretty straightforward as there are only two electrical wires. Some have complained about non-standard pipe threads, but it is definitely NPT. I had no problems connecting red brass, galvanized, black iron, or PVC to the 3/4" female threads. One very important thing to remember is that the valve is unidirectional, not bidirectional, and is stamped with a small flow direction arrow on the brass body. If you happen to install it backwards, the valve becomes normally-open instead of normally-closed and gives the impression that it is a "normally-open" valve. I don't think it is intended to operate long-term in this manner, but I know mine reacted that way before I saw the small flow arrow stamped into the side of the brass body. The valve does get pretty warm when actuated, but not extremely hot. Reports are that the valve is not designed to stay actuated for more than 8 hours at a time, and the solenoid may burn out if regularly operated for longer periods of time (this is because the solenoid coil has to remain energized to hold the valve open). Overall, I recommend this product. UPDATE: After 6 weeks of operation on a daily basis, the solenoid valve is still operating well. Cold, well-water running thru the valve. Solenoid is hot while in "open" mode, but not burning hot, and you can still grab it and hold it for a while without burning your hand. If hot water were running thru it, I don't think I could expect a long operating life before burning out the solenoid, because of the specific way/application I am using it.

Works great!
I purchased this solenoid valve to use in a 1" water supply line that 'demand feeds' a water storage tank when a float switch in the tank indicates the water level in the tank is getting low. The solenoid valve has been working flawlessly for several months. I installed the valve about 3' away from a pressurized water bladder tank, thinking the tank would absorb most of the water hammer induced by this valve snapping closed, but it didn't. There was severe hammer in the line, due the very fast shut-off time this valve delivers. I mitigated this issue easily with an inexpensive (large) water hammer arrestor, placed near the inlet side of the solenoid. Now I can barely hear the valve snapping shut, and there's no hammer whatsoever in the pipe. This solenoid is a solid piece of work, to be sure. I removed the threaded plastic wire entrance cover to the solenoid, and replaced it with a metallic metal flex conduit fitting, and soldered the pigtail wire leads to standard ROMEX wire, shrink wrapping them neatly inside the conduit. A single nut loosens on the top of the solenoid, allowing the solenoid housing to be rotated to ANY position (full 360 degrees of freedom) to 'point' the conduit in an optimal direction. The valve body is clearly marked with inlet and outlet direction. Very satisfied customer.

Well it works
I am using it to reduce water flow for a business that has no drainage or water supply so they can wash hands with low water consumption due to covid .There are more products I used to do this but. Went from 5 gallons of water in 4 min that's what's what your faucet uses. To 5 gallons of water in 15 min that's continuous use . I made a special tip that will give you 5 gallons water for 34 minutes at continuous use. I have also added a foot pedal to turn on and off switch to add more water savings. Have not done a test on that yet because I am not done yet but should cut the water usage in half but valve works GREAT low noise. It is being used in a DOCTORS office. So as of now the valve works.great . If I have any problems with it I will let everyone know. LOVE THE VALVE . BDS

works well with higher pressures
this solenoid is used for controling the air coming off my air compressor and i use a mark time timer to control the solenoid i gave this 3 stars due to the threads on the solenoid was not cut deep enough so a leak resulted the mpt connector bottomed out before tightening completely had to cut the pipe (copper) sawed off 3 threads on the connector and was then able to tighten without leaking other than that it works well it is difficult to find a solenoid that will handle 175 psi plus and by using the mark time timer i do not have to remember to shut it off. hot dang susie bob

Working like I needed it too holding 120 psi even though rated lower I would buy again

Wires are a bit short, works for automating hoses
I had to solder on to the wires in order to get a decent length cable. The default cable length is too short, especially given the fact that this device is not grounded and if you got any water leaks/splashes the cable would be right in range That aside, the only other thing of note is that these use the NPT threading so if you want to use a hose you should get adapters. I also needed to use teflon tape to in order to get rid of most of the leaks. I have a very very very slow drip on the intake side. I wasn't able to get rid of it all but its so small that for my usage its fine. This is a nice solid device

Product leaks after 4 months, apparently no warranty
Didn't last 4 months before seal in solenoid started leaking. Apparently there is no warranty. As far as I can see this product is not worth installing.
