I start at a number two and then pour the grain back in to the vessel and run it on a number one which makes it finer. I wanted to find a less processed flour. One I was sure had no glyphosate or other harmful side products. I found wheat berries! Then I needed a grain mill. I found this attachment for my KitchenAid! It has a numbered adjustable dial for variable size grinds. I set my kitchenaid to its lowest setting and the grind size to 6 to begin. I run the berries through three to four times depending on how fine I want the grain. Starting at six, then down to four, two and one. My KitchenAid has never overheated in this process because I have grinding speed set to low. The attachment works great with my unit! It’s not overly loud but again I set my KitchenAid on its lowest setting! Grinding speed is slower this way, but effective. The attachment is solid metal so very strong! Always turn off your KitchenAid when adjusting your grind size.
