Does this system need a wick?

Dexceder self watering pots do not need the wick, the method of wick is an outdated self-watering method. Dexceder self watering flower pots are designed according to the principle of negative pressure irrigation technology, without the water pump used in the conventional pressure system, it can continuously and automatically replenish the water and nutrients needed by plants, so as to achieve the purpose of automatic irrigation.

Why does the water not go down far enough in the watering spout to make the gauge come up? The spout seems full to the top.

The gauge comes up like it’s supposed to on mine and the water doesn’t need to go all the way up the tube — it shouldn’t go higher than the liner on the bottom of the pot to avoid having your plant sitting in water. It might be defective, or you might have mixed up part of the assembly. I’d reach out to the manufacturer/seller for help.

Is this pot ok for Snake Plant?

Of course, the pot is ok for Snake Plant. However, planting snake plant requires attention to selecting sandy loam with good drainage properties. And the black or the white pot may be more suitable for matching with Snake Plant colors.

Where are these made?

I do not know, tag no longer available. I have 2, and are doing their job and look fabulous. Happy and worth the money.

I am a person that does not keep a great eye on the dryness of my live plants. Now I do not need to worry. The reservoir feeds for over 2 weeks, and it shows you on its clear tube whether you need to add water or not!! Works for me. I also purchased the red rattan pot, and love that one so much. Uplifting color added to the room.
