Companies think that by printing that something is "designed" in the USA, but made in China on the packaging is enough to get us all excited and feeling everything is all right. The reality is that it only takes one person and a design program on a computer to design just about anything today. That is hardly worth getting all jazzed over if one is concerned about supporting American companies. But really, what difference does it make anyway? Every company that has abandoned these shores these past fifty years are nothing but traitors to their country anyway. They made a great profit in line with what was the standard then (and still is in Northern Europe) but that wasn't enough. Then they got greedy for more of the cut, and lobbied to get approval to relocate, and did just that. Thus, abandoning the American labor force. . . The very people who worked in, produced, and then purchased their garbage. Then they had the gall to turn around and blame labor for "being paid too much". Really? As if the top brass now making 500 times more than the lowest employee is not greed, when the standard was once 40 to 50 times? I'm not one to pull punches on things like this, so to me, that is treasonous. Any American company that has to export their products back to the U.S. after having them made elsewhere should have that item taxed 200% upon importation, just to pay back all the damage they've done. There I said it. . . so sue me. :) **Q: are these safe to leave alone with my cat?** A: I cut the tails off before I give them to my cats, and I strongly suggest you do too. I have noticed at least one of my cats tugging at the tail, but even if I hadn't seen that I would still cut the tails off. Better safe than sorry. **Q: Are the bodies plush all the way through or is the fabric wrapped around a mold?** A: They are filled with white plush stuffing. My cat has about 20 of these and has only ripped up 1 or 2.
