Sunvedita Reetha Soap Nut Shells, 900 g (Brown)

The product is good, in my experience, and seem to be worth it at this price, which is lower than other reetha sellers.They smell fruity and are well-deseeded. They are exactly what the picture shows.I have been working with them for some time now and this is what I found effective:For a full machine load of clothes, put about 15 to 20 of these shells in a muslin bag. Soak in warm water for about fifteen minutes.Squeeze and crush the shells through the muslin bag. You will find a lot of lathering happening in the water.Then put the lathered water as well as the bag, tightly closed, into the machine with the clothes.This is just a guideline, but you have to experiment on this a bit. The amount of shells and manner of soaking etc. may change with each batch. I have been drying and reusing the shells at least twice again, so I am happy with the results.I use them for washing coloured non-stained clothes.For stained clothes I still use stain-removers like Vanish liquid first, before washing them with this.

PROS:Environment friendly, economic compared to the other detergents available in market, easy on hands, no strong smell of fabric cleansers and soaps, mild and hypoallergenic, can be used for washing baby clothes (lesser number of shells) as well as heavy durries (of course more shells).CONS:Delivery charge is almost half of the product's cost.The packet says "It includes soap nut shells and a cotton pouch to use the same." However, I never got any pouch in the two packets that I ordered. So I use my own cloth pouch for machine use.

Excellent product at very reasonable price. Pure whole reetha(without seed)shells....nothing else:) Far far better than 10times costly reetha powder available from other X-Y-Z brands. Can be used for any type of washing purposes from clothes to hair. Boiling 5/6 reetha shells with a spoon of amla powder in 300/400ml water makes the world's best shampoo without any chemical....best for weak, damage or thin/fine hair. This 1 kg reetha pack just for Rs.178(120+58 as delivery charge) will last for more than 100 hair washes (7/8 months). I will suggest everyone to buy this whole reetha shells pack instead of other costly reetha powder packs for shampooing purpose. I think, the seller, SUNVEDITA TRADERS, has no other product in amazon except only this 1kg pack. So, please buy and support this small but excellent seller of this amazing product.Seller service is also very good. Received the product (at Kolkata) at 4th day after placing the order.

worst quality soapnuts delivered.

I was happy to get reetha with the seed removed. However, these are not as soapy as the ones I've earlier bought from local shop. So one needs to use larger qty of these for the same level of cleaning.

I've been using this for few years k ow and this is the best quality soapnuts that I've bought! I prefer powdering and storing it for use. It's less staining on white clothes than other brands I've tried. It foams easily as well. Very effective to remove oil and greese from vessels. It's also excellent for body wash removing stickiness of sweat. But it's a little harsh on the hair as it makes it dry and rough and tangle together. Untangling is a painful ordeal. It has a very mild scent which does not stick but skin feels so good afterwards.

Reetha (for the uninitiated) is a dry fruit grown in a few parts of North India. Though a fruit, it is not edible. Rather, it has served as the common man's soap for many millennia. Of late, people have discovered that it is a good herbal soap that does its job without leaving any harmful effects upon the skin.I felt that the price was very good for one Kg, but was stunned to open the packet. I thought they were selling for this low price with the seed (which has to be thrown away) but this turned out to be de-seeded one kilo. That is an amazing quantity of the soapy shell alone for a small price.The quality is very good and I strongly endorse this product!
