My four-year-old grandson who is an escape artist cannot get out of it. It has a cable in between on a swivel so it doesn’t get tangled up and it won’t break if they pull on it. And I’m not one to use the harnesses and a leash on a child. This does look like you have your child on a leash. And it will keep them safe from running off. Definitely recommend this product. And it is adjustable so it will fit larger children as well. I have two grandchildren that have no sense of danger and will just run off. Very easy to use.
