## Description

Simple & easy peel and stick installation. Ideal for metal roof. RV/Boat, Home & Commercial applications. Battery charging or grid- tie solar systems. UniSolar is one of the largest manufacturers of flexible thin film solar panels. Low Light Performance. Each UNI-SOLAR module utilizes triple-junction amorphous silicon solar cells. The blue, green, and red light of the sun is absorbed in different layers of the cell, yielding higher energy production, especially at low insolation levels and under diffused light. Shadow Tolerant. By-pass diodes are connected across each cell allowing the laminates to produce electricity even when partially shaded or soiled. High Temp Performance. In real-world conditions module temperatures can be up to 185 degrees. The performance of crystalline silicon cells declines significantly in high temperatures, while UNI-SOLAR amorphous silicon technology does not. Made in USA.

Review: better than any other panels I've worked with - I just bought number three. Unbeatable price-per-watt and impressive low-light output, better than any other panels I've worked with. Several years ago, a snow storm knocked out our electricity for 8 days, so I have them for emergency preparedness, and made a few changes. Peeled off the adhesive on the back of the panels (along with several layers of skin at the same time), attached Anderson PowerPoles and made a mounting frame on my shed in the back yard. On normal days, they recharge the batteries for the lighting in my back yard (want to do more, just need the time). The adhesive goo from the back of the panels works great to weatherproof the PowerPole connections and short-circuit proof the battery connections. They roll up and nicely fit in a 5 gallon bucket for easy transport (one panel, one charge controller and a couple of connecting cables per bucket). Don't even think about keeping them portable with the goo on the back. It's some seriously sticky stuff once it gets even a little warm. I unrolled them on a grassy area during field day last year. The two panels and two marine deep-cycle batteries ran two radios all weekend, pulling from the batteries overnight. One panel and battery could have easily ran three radios without breaking a sweat during the day. I'm a little worried about rolling/unrolling in the cold, but am only really worried about them getting stepped on since they're built stronger than I expected for a stick-on-and-leave solar panel. ***THESE ARE 24V PANELS! MAKE SURE YOU USE AN APPROPRIATE CHARGE CONTROLLER!
Review: Great panel and great price - Great panel and great price. I installed 2 of these on the top of my trailer and they really generate the juice. I highly recommend these, you clean the area where you want to install the panel, roll it out to make sure you have it in position, pull the paper backing off the underside of the panel and push the panel down on the surface and your done. Takes about 10-15 minutes at most to install.

## Features

- Powerbond, flexible solar panel
- Easy to install adhered directly to metal roofing pans, no racking system is required, laminates and metal roofing can be installed in one step
- Lightweight and durable

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can this be used with 12 volt systems**
A: I used to install these panels and have 10 on my own roof. Basically, using them for a 12-volt system is not a good idea. These are 24 volt panels (actually put out 24 to 33 volts at 4 amps) and they really will not work well with a 12 volt system. If your charge controller is a smart MPPT controller that can handle 33 volts or more of input, then it would probably go ahead and charge your 12 volt batteries -- but it would not let more than about 17 volts through because 12 volt batteries should not be charged at more than 17 volts or so. The MPPT function would try to convert the extra voltage above 17 volts into "more amps" of electricity, but can only do so much of that. You end up using only about 60 percent to 70 percent of the power this panel puts out. What a waste.Warning: not-smart, not-MPPT controllers will probably not work with the high voltage this panel puts out and you might damage the controller. Why do this? There are millions of 12 volt solar panels out there... buy some of them. Or else change your system to 24 volts, which works better than 12 volts in many ways.

**Q: Can I cut this panel into smaller sections?**
A: panel can not be cut to size.

**Q: bought one in Feb; with wires on the underside (sticky side). I want another the same, not with connector on blue (sun side). Can I request it?**
A: only one seller has this model as it was originally a special order prior to the manufacturer bankruptcy. Amazon does not recognize this critical technical difference and therefore lists the most popular style(connection on top via J-box ) as if it were the only possible option. No kudos to Amazon on this technical inadequacy on their part; perhaps they need to hire more staff familiar with technology. As it stands; the seller is unable to list here the product with this uniqueness. Not everyone would be delighted since the only description on Amazon does not specify; assuming they are all J-box on top side of panel.

**Q: Does the panel need to be adhered to a roof/solid surface or could it be adhered to a ripstop type material and fastened to a frame?**
A: The panel was designed with a very sticky roofing type adhesive backing that Unisolar indicated would withstand Class III hurricane winds of 130 MPH. They can also be applied on a less permanent basis to a ripstop style fabric and even rolled up when not in use. I have seen photos of the panels applied to a fabric roof of a carport.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable Solar Power System
*by I***N on March 27, 2018*

I wanted to help my sister after Hurricane Maria. It has been over 6 months that she has not had power. I put together a system that I could order from Amazon and send most of the components to Puerto Rico directly. I ordered the SolarEpic 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller, four Uni-Solar PVL-136 PowerBond PVL 136 Watt Flexible Solar Panels, a POTEK 2000W Power Inverter Three AC Outlets 12V DC to 110V AC and the miscellaneous cables and fuses. I prewired the controller and the inverter and wrote a detailed set of instructions on how to connect everything else. Luckily, I found in PR the batteries at Batteries Plus, and I ended up using two 12 vdc 155 Amp-hours for the project. My sister and my nephew installed the system 03/03/2018 and it has been powering her fridge, a few LED lights, a fan and charging phones and computers since with no problems. These products are outstanding and provide very impressive performance.
