Men's 8 fits like Asics Women's 9 1/2
These arrived today, and I'm very happy with them. I am a woman who has worn Asics shoes for walking and for work for many years now. I always bought Asics size 9 1/2 womens. I felt somewhat confident ordering the men's 8 because it is 41.5 euro size, same as my women's Asics pairs.Really wanted the all-black color and the great tread on the sole - it is hard to find shoes with a good gripping tread.I read all the reviews before buying and many mentioned the glued in insoles. They are coated on the back with stripes of very tacky adhesive and I was able to grab them with pliers at the edge and pull them out cleanly with a little effort.I pulled the insoles out with pliers to make room for Superfeet insoles which I need to wear in pretty much all my shoes. Without the factory footbed I was able to fit the heavy Superfeet Copper Insole and it's just great to be able to fit those in there with a fair amount of sock. I also modify the insole with a pad for Morton's Toe and there is no issue with room for all that sock, insole and pad in the roomy toe box.The shoe laces that come with these are thick and round and I didn't like them. I had a pair of plain black ones from a previous pair of Asics that I wore out, I kept the laces when I thew the worn out shoes away, the laces showed no sign of wear. With the plain black laces that have a bit of a lower profile, these shoes look great! I don't think they look any bulkier or different than women's Asics.I have a narrow heel and was worried about that area for fitting. But one good thing about these shoes is that the back of the shoe where it comes up over the heel is pretty structured and padded, I need that, and also, I think it possibly comes up a little higher in the men's shoe than the women's. This is good because the Copper Superfeet insole had raised my foot up too high in some women's shoes, to where my heel was popping up out of the shoe. One more thing I think is really important about this style. I had a pair of Asics trail hiking shoes before, the Fuji Attack style. These had a serious design flaw in that the back of the sole at the heel stuck out really far. I guess this is supposed to give you stability. It is a safety problem on stairs! When you are going down a flight of stairs, that back of the heel sticking out so far, catches on the step if you aren't completely conscious of it for every step! It seems really dangerous on stairs to have the back stick out so far. These don't do that, I could see in the pictures that they don't. What a relief to find such a good pair of Asics at such a good price, the right color and so much good room in the toe box for the insoles and socks. I had enough confidence that they would work out that after I ordered the first pair, I ordered another pair before the first one even got here. It isn't often that you find a shoe that really ticks all the boxes like these do. I have them on right now and they feel great.I'm going to pay attention to people's reports that they felt they were slippery on wet surfaces and I will make sure to wear them a fair amount of dry pavement to scuff up the soles a little and hope to alleviate any possible issue with slipperiness.Hope this helps someone and that some woman might read this and order a man's size with a little less trepidation. Can't wait to go for a walk! I really needed these shoes, I didn't even realize how much I needed them until I got them.

ASICS are my comfort shoe…
ASICS are the only sneakers I wear - they give comfort and support for my somewhat flat feet. Most shoes either give no support, or hurt my arches. These are comfortable! The shoelaces are a little too short, but I can make do.

Good traction
A little narrower and longer than same size Gel Venture - seem just a tad narrow for a wide fit shoe, but great traction and comfortable right out of the box. I wear these to play disc golf and they give good support and are comfortable and stable on rough trails. Not 'waterproof' but surprisingly resistant to wet grass and a little dewey mornings. Holding up well

A-Bit Snug Size Wise
Always buy ASICS and these are decent, but I am an 11 1/2. These are tight but wearable.

These ASICS are the most durable they make.
Constantly out of stock, I have multiple pairs for running and causal. After a year they still maintain tread! Great buy!

Solid shoe!
Asics is a good brand that can be expensive (though worth it) but you can find good deals like what I got here. I wear them for 2 hour workouts everyday and wear them for work which has me on my feet and they feel great.

Not a 4EE, Venture 8 Is Wider
In the first picture you can see these shoes, the Frequent Trail on the left, Gel Venture 8 in the middle and Gel Venture 7, my old shoes on the right. The Venture 7's are 4E and wider than both. The Venture 8's are a bit narrower but fit well, especially across the ball of the foot area. The Frequent Trail shoes are well built, but fit narrow for me and I have very wide feet. Also they are much stiffer than the Venture shoes, with a stiffer less cushioned sole. That may be preferable for walking on rocky terrain, and they certainly feel very stable. However for a blend of comfort and durability I would recommend the Gel Venture 8 instead. Asics seems to be making their shoes a bit narrower, and the width of the new shoes is about a quarter of an inch less than my Gel Venture 7's. The 8's have the same width in the sole but the toe box is slightly smaller. Still comfy. I'm sticking with the Gel Venture 8 and I will be returning the Frequent Trails. The Venture 8's are just as durable looking but much more comfortable to walk in because the sole flexes more. I'm not saying don't buy these because they are still good sshoes, and might fit someone else perfectly. Also you might want a stiffer shoe, but I'd be willing to bet you would find the Venture 8 to be a much more comfortable shoe for walking or running. The insoles do come out, and I have replaced them with Spenco Total Support orthotic insoles which give the arch support that is lacking from this shoe and also the Venture 8's. Asics is no longer putting a foam arch support insole in their shoes. I have flat feet so I found even that was not enough, the Spenco's are a game changer and cured my plantar fasciitis. Asics is still my favorite brand however they are making them a bit narrower now for some reason. Even so, the Gel Venture 8's all still comfortable and in my opinion a nicer looking shoe with a much more cushioned ride, also a more aggressive tread pattern for a trail running/walking. The second picture is Venture 8 on the right, about the same price. Hard to see in the picture but the forefoot is wider in the Venture 8 even though both shoes are extra wide size.

Nice colour, snug fit, good quality
The shoe is an import and came in quickly. It was neatly packed and size 14 was equal to the usual Indian size 12 and fit well. Good quality and colour exactly as shown on website.

Meh, ok but only really because of the price
Took a while to come from the US but not as long as I expected, only bought them because they were U.K. size 10.5 in a wide fit, still fit a bit big and are average really, only good thing was the price to get that size trainer
