Some use tea lights, some are electric. We found them much easier to use and (God forbid) if we forgot to blow out a tea light unlike a scented candle, it burns out on it's own in within an hour or two.Recently, someone mentioned using oil instead of wax in our warmers. We had never thought of it but saw many good reviews so we purchased a couple scents. We are VERY pleased. Add some water, a few drops of these oils and you have scent almost immediately instead of having to wait for wax to melt before you smell anything.I am happy to say while we prefer natural oils, this clean cotton scent smells just like a candle of the same. Of course, it's probably the same oil the candle makers add to the wax.
