Basix Guitar Method Complete: Book & MP3 CD (Basix(R) Series)

My daughter wants to teach herself the guitar, and should be able to accomplish that goal with this fine instruction book. I have used the Basix Piano Instruction with numerous students and found that they are quite good, so I feel certain the guitar instruction will be equally helpful in learning to play that instrument.

I'm new in the guitar world and with this book is very easy to understand.It helps you to get in "shape" quickly and faster than you think, the trick it's practice, practice and more... practice !The cd it's the perfect companion for the book wich includes every example or exercise.

Alfred went and published two books with the same content. This has 100% the same music content as  Alfred's Basic Guitar Method - Complete (Book & CD's) (Alfred's Basic Guitar Library) . The only difference is this one is an older, smaller engraving (not really better or worse, just different), pictures of famous guitarists with one or two sentence quips, and the CD is an MP3 CD instead of 3 regular CDs.One book is "Alfred's Basic Guitar Method: Complete", this one is "Basix Guitar Method Complete" (by Alfred Publications). This publisher is guilty of making MANY other books with nearly identical or at least shared content as well. Clearly if they have more titles, then they figure the chances are higher that a buyer chooses one of theirs over a competing publisher.Note: the other reviewer even reviewed this BASED ON THE IDEA THAT IT IS THIS SERIES.So how is this or the other or the other title that are really all the same book?Not as good as the original versions of Alfred's Basic Guitar from 1959. In revising it, they took content from many of their various titles, but worked it out into a whole that is just alright. It isn't the best, but for a traditional notation-focused method, it still is alright. Maybe even one of the better options for this type of traditional approach. I think it is better but more corny than the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. For most people, I'd also choose one of these Alfred books over Mel Bay's modern guitar method too.I think Alfred deserves some scorn or something for their dishonest marketing though.

Es muy método muy fácil y bueno para aprender a tocar la guitarra. Va poco a poco y es muy fácil de seguir.Está en inglés pero realmente no es necesario conocer el idioma para poder entender lo que hay que hacer puesto que es un libro muy gráfico.

Para iniciarse rápidamente en la lectura musical para guitarra y aprender con facilidad (lástima que esté en inglés, aunque no es realmente un problema)

Sobre todo para mejorar con los mecanismos, y conseguir que los dedos aprendan a relajar tensiones y que los acordes sean limpios..
