Can you turn off just the heater if you don't need hot water?

Yes you can. There are two bottons on the back to shut off the hot or the cold. The third button will shut off the LED night light.

What does it mean when it stops cooling and heating water?

My units thermostat failed and caused the water tank to freeze solid preventing water to flow. This is a known problem with this model. The company was good about providing a replacement even though the warranty had expired. Unplug the unit for 72 hours allowing the tank to thaw out then plug the unit back in and give it a try. If it's a freezing problem it may return in a few days. It cannot be repaired by the consumer.

Does the pump cone with product? Can you use any 5 gallon water bottle or do you neef special bottle and where do you order

The pump is part of the unit. You can use almost any 3 or 5 gal bottle, The sleeve that fits over the bottle is tapered to accept most bottles in the 53 mm to 60 mm caps. Wallmart, amazon and others sell the bottles.

Does the hot water come in contact with any plastic parts, such as the heating elements, the reservoir and the spout?

It doesn't really have contact with any plastic...It comes out straight and hot...But it will not heat up or Melt any other plastic around it. (Works Great)

Water doesn't cool, only hot and room. Hot is very hot which is great. Sent it for repairs and was told it's a compressor issue which is another AED 650 all in all. Really nice water cooler, sad that it doesn't actually cool water.

Great addition and replacement for our previous cooler that made it 12+ years. Here's hoping this one does as well. Enjoy having the 3 dispensers instead of just 2 ... a lot of the time the container has ice in it already so no need for the chilled water. We don't use the hot water. Easy to setup, and the jug wand seems robust. Been through 15-20 jugs so far with no issues. Very happy with purchase.

Inoltre alcune parti in plastica sono rotte. Ho provato a restituirlo due volte. E ogni volta bisogna pagare la spedizione negli Stati Uniti. Ma entrambe le volte la merce mi è stata restituita dalla dogana. In conclusione, merce rotta. Meno il prezzo. Meno 250€ per la spedizione. Finalmente l'ho inserito. Ha funzionato per due giorni. Ed è esploso. Fate attenzione quando acquistate questo prodotto per l'Europa. Non lo consiglio!
