The screen is large and is the full size of the front of the phone. Colour resolution seems to be pretty good with good contrasts. The camera is a basic but does the job. For us the camera quality is not particularly important - the only photos he tends to take are when he is out shopping and wants to send me an image of a product. Set up was so simple, I was absolutely amazed. I was transferring from one Android phone to another and I just needed to have them sat next to each other and turned on. The Redmi A5 even prompts you when to pop your micro-SD card in. Transferred all apps, messages and contacts on to the A5 from his Moto G7 (yes, you read that right a 2019 model and the only reason we are upgrading is that it only supports 3G - even the battery life is pretty darn good still) with no issues and everythign works as anticipated. The fingerprint scanner is just plain weird though. Instead of being on the screen it is sited on the on/off button mounted to the side of the phone. Seems to be hit and miss with it working and I think this is due to the location - you can use a PIN instead so that is what we have settled on. Torch is incredibly bright and easy to access by swiping down. Charging is via an included USB-C cable and seems to charge pretty quickly. Gave up in the end .
