Can this connect to the internet?

This is NOT an internet device. This TV has a USB port for display of digital media, an HDMI port for connecting to other video devices, such as DVD players. There are also AV input/output ports with an included connecting cable. This TV is NOT a "smart" TV. It DOES NOT contain any apps or internet services. This is a television only. Please refer to the product description for all the available functions and features.

So if you are 40 miles from a tv station, this tv isn't going to work? Please don't answer "I don't know".

all I can tell you is: the built-in antenna is not quite strong enough for over air TV 30 miles from station; I use an antenna I bought from Amazon that just plugs in to the TV set. Also works very well with Amazon Firestick. The FM radio works really well. Has all the features of a big TV.

Do I need a separate digital antenna?

The TV comes with a basic telescoping antenna, 32" expanded, which receives Digital signals in different directions. Transmission signals vary according to station broadcast strength. My basic antenna receives about 20 stations from 270 degrees west (about 30 miles away) and 10 degrees north (about 42 miles away). My optional Luxtronic DT103 antenna receives more than twice as many stations.
