Nice Backup Battery
When I received the timers, both had been charged and displayed the time. I did not have to plug it in to program it. The time is displayed in 24 hour format so there's no mistaking AM or PM. The buttons are fairly large, nicely labeled and well spaced so you don't accidentally hit 2 buttons at once. I immediately used one timer to replace a noisy, standard mechanical timer. The instructions are more visual than text with each step clearly illustrated. It was easy to program to the current hour once I realized I had failed to read the "hint" to hold down the "confirm" button until the time displayed blinked, making me feel really stupid. The timer is fairly large. It covers both outlets when plugged in. I easily programed it to turn the light on at 19:00 and off at 22:15. I plugged it into a three plug adapter, plugged the adapter into the wall outlet and the lamp into the timer. It worked perfectly that night. The next day I looked at the second timer I had left in the box. After 2 days of shipping and an additional day sitting in my house, the backup battery appears to have worked for at least 72 hours. That's a lot more than I expected. This timer is described on Amazon as being for indoor use only but there is no information in the instructions. I would not consider using it outdoors unless this was specifically stated.

Easy to use and reliable
Easy to set up and change on the fly. I use it with a humidifier and another one with a fan in my mushroom fruiting tent. Worked well for me. The only thing I wish it has is a temporary on/off button independent of the programming to either to test or stop it but it's good enough for me.

It's a bit tricky to learn, because it can do so much, but Great TIMER (and Battery Memory)
I use these for Fish Tanks and Plant Lights and love them. The Battery Backup is really nice. They are a bit tricky to setup, but that's because you can do so much with them. Keep the reference card. These are great multifunction timers.

Difficult But Great
Can be a huge pain to program. There's a learning curve and it'll get easier every time Once they're programmed they are great.

Pros: Accurate & reliable; Con: not intuitive/easy to program
When I go out of town for an extended period of time, I use this timer plug to pre-program my lights to turn on/off as a home security measure. It's timing is highly accurate, & it works reliably every time. However, the setup process is not intuitive at all. Since I don't go on lengthy out of town trips too often, I find that I must refer to the instructions every time when I need to set it up. It's probably time for me to join the information age & just buy a Wi-Fi-enabled smart plug when I find one for a reasonable price.Bottom line - it works, but the design is not particularly convenient.

Great price for a lot of functions
These little controllers are really great. They give you the ability to control the switch by so many different routines. I wish it were a little bit more intuitive to program, but for what these guys can do, I will keep the instructions handy

Bought multiple to run a network of monitors in a production facility
I bought these to cycle several monitors on and off in a production facility. My company has a hallway where several monitors were setup with touchscreen films for interactive displays that visitors could use. However, the computers running the systems became obsolete and the software stopped running. We were then left with a bunch of monitors with nothing to show on them. We then bought a bunch of media players to cycle some photos on the monitors. What we didn't test is that the media players stop cycling after a week, which means they had to be powered off and on every week. Not a sustainable practice at all. Instead of buying all new media players, we instead bought timers to cycle the power on the monitors. And here we are. After more than six months, the timers are performing flawlessly.

May be difficult to set up as you want it.
Nice looking, appears to be well made. I purchased these timers in order to run a 12 volt motor for 1 minute then to stop it for 29 minute, this cycle to be repeated from 09.30 hr till 16.00 hr. Then to be shut off overnight to restart at 09.30hr. the next day. The cycle repeats each day of the week.Setting the time of day by following the instructions was easy. But I have not been able to make the timer follow my instructions, which were as in item 3 - interval circulation working mode per day.. advice on how to meet my needs will be appreciated.
