Review: Excellent value psu that is capable of 550w - Fantastic budget build entry level power supply that has plenty of wattage for budget builds and runs quite and cool. The ease of installation is very simple with all wiring neatly done and ready to hookup with little effort. The noise level of the psu is very low and is not of any worry. It will handle a build like a ryzen 5600 and a 1660 super GPU and a 120 or 240 AIO, 4 fans and LEDscwithout any issue what so ever even when over clocking the processor and GPU. It's a reliable psu that won't burn up on you or fry your system like some of the cheap PSUs can do, I have these in 6 budget builds that I use for crypto mining rigs when no one's over and for guest and family gaming rigs when I have them over staying with me. When mining as they do most of the time they are running under load 24 hours a day and have been for multiple years and they have been totally solid and handle it with no issue and when they are being used as gaming rigs when I gave guests over they are over clocked and being pushed hard and these little budget 450w PSUs handle it and stay cool and run quite. I also use them as power supplies for charging my RC plane, race quad and 3d helicopters Lipo batteries, I have two ran in parallel for one of my 1300 watt capable chargers I regularly pull 1100 watts off the pair and while they get warm they handle it and have for a couple years. Pulling basically 100w more load per unit than they are rated and they take it just fine and when I'm going to fly on the weekend I'm changing a ton of packs so it's setting at 1100w for hours on end as I'm parallel charging 6x 6 cell 3200 to 6000mah packs at 50 amps/1110 watts and while they get warm they don't get hot and I have no doubt they could push more I wouldn't be surprised if they could push 600w and not fail, what I'm getting at is they can easily and reliably push 550w so even if your running demands of constant 550w the supply will handle it without getting screaming hot or failing, I don't own just one of these I have 8 in total and they have all been rock solid so it's not that I just got lucky and got one good one. These are the best budget 450w psu out there and would do you a very good job for a budget build, if you calculate the wattage demands of your build I would say that I would consider these safe at 550 peak demand and so long as your pulling in the 500 or less range under load and 550 peak you will be just fine with this supply. If you are buying this as a RC charger psu then you can just count it as a 550w psu as it will deliver 550 with no issues. I have pulled 625w off them before and while it didn't fail it did get up to about 130°F and the voltage was starting to sag down so that was the limit and would fail the psu before long but so long as you are at 550 and under this supply will hold up well for you. Like pulling 45amp off them is putting 540w of output and it will take it without any fuss so I know they underrated these PSUs as voltage is rock solid at 540w load. Voltage starts to begin to sag right at 600w and temp quickly starts to climb so 550 peak demand is the limit if you want it to last for you. The value for your money is excellent with this unit and it will make you a great budget build PC Psu or a great lipo charger psu that's capable of dishing out 550w and staying cool and reliable but I really wouldn't suggest pulling anymore than 550 off it as that's already demanding over 100w more than rated and temps start climbing once you get over that 550 threshold.
Review: Long review but I felt the need to give them a fair review. - So i felt the need to write up this detailed review because I noticed the Apevia power supplies have been getting some hate from people who havent actually ever had one or are just PC elitest. You know the type they believe something like it must meet the following 2 requirements or its garbage. #1 be made by one of the top 5 brands and #2 say 80 Plus Silver or better. Also every one of them has been building pc's years and years and this is the one time they decided to go with a cheaper brand even though they knew better and of course it exploded into a million pieces destroying their ultra expensive pc or it caught fire and would have burned down their whole house had it not been for their quick reflexes. No but seriously read through those 1 star reviews and you may find a lot of similarities between them and some hyperbole or just outright lies. I just came across 2 that had pictures which told a different story than what they had stated. One said a capacitor or some other internal part exploded and they added the picture to show the damage to the psu case which was just a couple dents and a cracked paint chip. However if you look close the dent is on the corner and is pushed inward. This of course makes no sense and is more likely they dropped the psu on its corner causing the damage. The other review said when they turned it on there was a lot of sparking inside the psu and a crackling sound could be heard. Maybe this did happen but the pictures they took show absolutely no damage or burn marks. One last one seemed totally legit as it stated the psu died after 1 day. That makes total sense if this was your first time buying and using an Apevia psu the experiwnce wpuld most likely give you a negative feeling about them. Those kind of things happen with electronic devices across all brands its just it happens more often with the cheaper brands. I guess what im trying to get across is dont be put off from considering and/or purchasing Apevia psu's because of a few bad reviews. Now thats all been said here is my honest review of them. This is hands down the best brand for power supplies in this price range ($25-$35). The quality is great and they work well. I say this having bought 5 Apevia psu's, two 450w, two 500w, and a 600w over the years. All of them have worked great with no issues or premature failures by a years time after that I cant verify. In fact the 600w i put in my home pc and it lasted no joke 12 years. Now it was just used in a casual family pc with no major gaming or anything like that but still. That being said there is always the possibility of getting a faulty one but that is just how it goes with electronics. I personally knowing what I know would give them a 2nd chance and get a replacement rather than refund if I got a defective one. Last thing give their LED fans a look as they have a bunch of different colors that it is tough to find anywhere else like yellow and pink. RGB is cool and all but I like having variety and it seems like everyone is moving over to solely RGB LED fans.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these univeral, it came with a 4 wire hard drive connection and a 4 wire CD connection but my comp is 5 wire on both ?**
A: These are universal standard non modular standard ATX power supplies. They come with a 24 pin motherboard power connector, 4+4 CPU power, several 4 pin Molex connectors, and several ATA (hard drive) power connectors. For a 5 pin connector you may need a Molex adapter.

**Q: Which version of atx is this psu?**
A: Yes

**Q: do you have a wiring schematic for all the wires out?**
A: Here are the wiring schematics for the Venus 450W!
https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/5ced3cdc3850586f0800b1a0/5d8007499e6329cd5374697f_um-venus.pdf

**Q: Does this psu have a warranty? and does it cover any other components if it's failure is involved with other components?**
A: It does have a warranty, and is covered by Amazon returns. However, I would suggest going with a different brand. Logisys makes great power supplies, and they are in the same price range as APEVIA.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Same part, the original lasted 13 years!
*by J***E on March 3, 2024*

I purchased this item when my power button completely quit working recently. My computer was built in 2011, which makes it 13 years old. This is the exact product and model that was in my computer tower originally, so it lasted 13 years! I use my computer everyday and turn it off every night. Restart in the morning. So that's a lot of use for this part.
