This mouthguard is amazing and is a lifesaver for my son with braces. He got braces at the beginning of wrestling season and so of course I hopped on and bought the mouthguard everyone seems to get that has a top and bottom portion together. Well I didn’t know how far off my son’s teeth were at the time. That one didn’t fit at all because his bottom teeth were too far back to fit in the pre molded areas. After panic searching I came across the Bulletproof Braces Mouthguard and thought well lets give it a shot. Especially after I saw a review where someone said you just buy 2 and mold the other one upside down for the bottom teeth. It worked perfect to do it that way. The bottom was a little more difficult to mold but we just followed the directions and then reheated small sections to form it down. The spacer comes out after and they fit perfectly. It came with extra pads too and we’re about to re mold the mouthguard because my son’s teeth have moved so much in this amount of time. I can’t thank this company enough for coming out with this product. He gets tons of compliments from other wrestlers, coaches, and even the refs when they do checks before wrestling. He’s going to use them for everything he needs a mouthguard for and he is definitely very happy we found these. Just follow the directions and you have a perfect mouthguard.

It was really uncomfortable to mold and honestly doesn’t protect much. Still better than nothing

It took us a few tries, but after we got the fit right it has been great! Watch the video first and then when fitting. My son got his teeth knocked out during a game, so his dentist said he has to wear a guard during practice and games. Sometimes he has double practices and wears this for 4 hours. No issues with breathing or talking, and if he does take it out when he is sitting he can slip it in a pocket with no issues. It is strong! Most mouthguards only last a few months as he chews through them spinning them in and out of his mouth. Not this one!

I’ve been using my BulletProof mouthguard for braces about a month now, and hands-down, buying this guard is the best money I’ve ever spent! I clench my teeth during sleep, and as such, I have used countless mouth guards over many years (both over-the-counter and custom) to try to mitigate the damage to my teeth. I lost a custom-made one during a vacation, and could not bring myself to pay for it again, so went the way of over-the-counter, and suffered through many an ill-fitted pair, which made me not be as diligent in using them constantly, to eventually, not at all. The "not-at-all" part lasted too many years long for my dentist's liking, and eventually my purse felt that neglect too (Ouch!!). So now here we are, and this adult is about 2 months in with braces (not fun at all, but its preventative to keep my original bits as long and healthy as possible), so clenching with this hardware in my mouth is NOT a good combination. I kept going back to the orthodontist every 1-2 weeks because of broken brackets, and/or the wires, not to mention having increased pain in my face, neck, and tension headaches. In my search for braces-friendly mouth guards, the options available were not desirable, until I found a video about the BulletProof mouthguards. I do not miss a night to use my mouthguard, it has reduced the side effects of my night clenching tremendously-no more dull headaches and neck stiffness when I wake up. My orthodontist was very pleased with the fit of it over my braces, and since I haven’t broken a bracket or wires in the last 30 days, I’d say this mouthguard is 100% effective! Be sure to watch the video specific to your guard at least once all the way through BEFORE you attempt to mold it. It will take time to get it just right, so be patient with yourself and the process because it's so worth it in the end!

Not the best option for protection with braces. Soemthing I didn't consider is the braces on the lower teeth are still exposed. Therefore if you have an impact at your lower lip you will injure your soft tissue of your lip. The mouthguard didn't come with instructions. You have to go to their site and watch a video. Pretty simple process, but outcome isn't that great. I am going to have to get a mouth piece specifically for upper and lower. This one is not good for full contact if tou have braces.
