Has anybody tried using this with openmediavault? plan on doing a nas with this on a raspberry pi 4. will setup redundancy on the pi.

Snapraid works like a charm and the RPi 4 w/ Raspian recognized all of my Seagate & WD drives up to 18 TB per drive without issue. Have a separate file server series running off USB hub connected to Intel NUC 9 w/ Ubuntu and works just as good. Had tremendous success with these towers for home media server with OMV, Portainer/Docker, and Plex on RPi 4, but they appear to be functional for every Linux OS I seem to throw at them.

If power is lost, will this unit power up automatically when power is restored?

That was a concern for me with it as a backup and video server. I then realized that I had an ample UPS on the computer next to my server. I should have had them on the UPS from the beginning. Always better to have a server and hard drives on a UPS anyway and to automatically shut down gracefully if the UPS is reaching low power.

Vibration level with max disks?

I can't tell you with all 8 disks installed, but I have 5 running with extremely slight detectable vibration through my finger tips. My Syba is stacked on top of a Dell Optiplex tower. To date, I have had no problems.
