An honor to watch, DVDs are worth it!
It is an honor to watch this show because it is obvious the whole cast and crew are really trying to honor the men who, to protect us, take on the most dangerous and difficult of missions as well as the all the folks who support and roll with them. The DVDs are worth it. Special features include promos, deleted scenes from many of the episodes, a Season One Debriefing featuring the producers and several cast members, a Set Tour that shows behind the scene details of several sets (including the C-17) an On Location segment that explains how the in-country Afghanistan scenes were shot, a segment on Dita the hair missile, and a gag reel. All of these were interesting and added to my enjoyment of the show, but it is worth it just to have the episodes to rewatch. The writing is rich enough you pick up even more watching the episodes a second time, like how Mandy figured out the intel had to be false in Ghosts of Christmas Future (the Serbs faced the KLA, an Osama bin Laden-trained Islamic insurgency, so a Serb would never sell weapons to the Taliban). The irony is the cast and crew ARE the real heroes here. To make a show about family men and wanna-be family men who love their families and country enough to put their lives on the line and keep that show pure must be an almost impossible task amidst the America-hating and leftist group-think that is Hollywood. There must be tremendous pressure on the actors, writers, producers, and crew to twist the show to serve the left's agenda and it is certain these folks are paying a real cost in terms of their careers and reputations. (Oh, the guy from THAT show, no, don't invite him.)In these last days, the folks who stand up for what is right are the real heroes. I salute you.

Well produced military action drama
I was somewhat hesitant of watching this series at first since I was never really a fan of David Boreanaz but after giving it a chance, it’s much better than I expected. I like the fact that this production employs numerous veterans both in front of the camera and behind. Also, I know that at least three of the producers are former special operations forces personnel (2 Seals with one of them being former Devgru & 1 Delta) so that gives this series credibility. The stunt doubles all appear to be former military or trained by people who are well versed in CQB.The character who plays Bravo 4 (Trent) is former Delta (also one of the producers) and another peripheral character (he might be on Alpha) is also former Delta. The actors themselves do a well enough job to accurately portray real operators with respect to the technical aspects of military tactics/maneuvers. Boreanaz has gotten better with respect to CQB tactics over time (in the earlier episodes he wasn’t properly shouldering his weapon but has gotten better into season 2).The storylines are relevant to today’s headlines, gear/weapon loadouts are accurate of what’s used by Tier 1 operators, and the drama hits home. Much better produced than The Unit and Six combined.

The Real Thing!
Seldom do movies and TV series capture the realism of combat and how that violent trauma affects not only the combat vets but their family and friends, too.SEAL Team does not pull any punches. I'm a former U.S. Marine and combat vet living with the long-term trauma of PTSD, and I have never watched a TV series this realistic before.

Lots of action, good character development and story line.
The owning network dropped this from their paid All Access service in the middle of introducing a family member to series, and not available on any streaming services at a decent price - boo on the network. Just boo. So we had to buy two seasons and watch in standard def but bonus no commercials. In any case the series is a keeper. If you liked The Unit or Black Hawk Down give this one a shot. They actually work hard to avoid the obvious firearm and team movement mistakes seen in most series and movies and it helps with the realism.

SEAL TEAM-Season One
Have always been intrigued by our Elite Forces and the dangers & hardships they endure. SEAL Team is an excellent example of the kinds of activity these warriors do that the public never hears about until after the fact, for obvious reasons secrecy being a top priority. I purchased this series to pass along to some of my friends so they could get the same enjoyment as I did when I watched. If you like action in a movie, just stand by bullets will be flying in no time....
