I love my Kindle! Update!
I have had my Kindle for over a month, and I am still excited about this Kindle. However, I just saw that it is on sale (Black Friday Deal), and I wanted to cry. It is now $45 less than what I paid (excluding the cost of the charger and case; add another $60 to that $45 (Ouch!)). Then, I had to have a talk with myself, and it went like this: Trinigal, stop being upset! You are fortunate to have purchased a Kindle that works well, and doesn’t have issues (like others who have shared the dissatisfaction with their Kindle). You are still enjoying your reads and always looking forward to your next read. I then chuckled to myself, and said that the title of the next book I select should be: When is the right time to buy a Kindle? My original review is below: This is my first Kindle, so I don’t have any other Kindle to compare it to. I usually read a physical book, books on my Computer, IPad or iPhone. This Kindle makes a difference in my ability to relax while reading a book. It is an awesome device that is portable, light weight, and convenient. Although I like reading on my IPad, it will no longer be my go to device for reading (When you know better, you do better). My house is full of unread books that I bought over the years, and that really bothers me because I just couldn’t find the time to read (being a professor with lots of other academic books to read, I gave those academic books priority over a good novel). Now, I am at the point where I want to read books for relaxation purposes. I chose the Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition as part of my incentive to read a good book. I researched this Kindle for an entire month before investing in it. Let’s get to the workings of the Kindle: This 7 inch Kindle is easy to hold in my hands. The IPad truly strained my hand when I tried to use only one hand when reading. At times, I had to lean the IPad on my thighs for support. Now, there will be no more hand to thighs when reading! The Kindle set up was very easy, and user friendly. I did not experience any problems connecting to the internet. After set up, with bated breath, I waited to see how the pages turned on the Kindle, and if I will find any fault with the action of turning the pages of the book I was reading. I am happy to say there was none; no noticeable long lag time, no problems were experienced with the turning of pages on this Kindle. Then I squinted my eyes, opened my eyes wide, I turned the Kindle upside down, and side to side while turning to the next page of my book; I was trying to see if there will be any trace of the previous page as I turn to the next page ( ghosting; some users experience an imprint of the former page while moving to the next page of their book). Happy to report, I tried hard to find a problem with that but I found none. What about the battery? The battery charged very quickly, and there was no problem during that process. I did charge the battery with the case on the Kindle, (as the picture shows). The Kindle came with an 80% charge and in 30 minutes (or less) it was fully charged (100%). I am hardly ever swayed by reviews: Sometimes reviews work as an incentive, or a deterrent….I always say, try an item out and make your personal decision. This Kindle is a keeper, and I am also going to purchase the new Color Kindle Colorsoft. Conclusion: This Kindle paper white Signature Edition , Gen 12/32 GB, is truly made for reading. It is certainly a handy device for traveling, and reading on the go. It is easy on the eyes, and therefore, easy on the brain. The raspberry color is really nice, and I plan on buying an extra clear case so that I could easily see the vibrant color of the kindle. I am honestly excited to be part of the Kindle family!

Super little Kindle packed with great features!
I absolutely love this little Kindle. It is perfect to take with me anywhere and fits in my purse or pocket. It charges super fast and the charge lasts for weeks! Downloads my new books very quickly and loads my book in the blink of an eye. Read without glare even in the car in full sun. My big IPad used to hurt my hands to hold and read at the doctors waiting room, not this little gem. I can not say enough about this Kindle….it is great and I highly recommend it.

Feels worth it! (So far)
First off this purchase was definitely an impulse purchase but so far I am very happy with it I do like the black color (even though I do wish there was a few more color options but still very satisfied). Next I do want to speak about the size, fit, design, and feel its an overall small design and at first I was like wow this is much smaller then I thought it was going to be but I instantly realized that it was a great size the screen I can tweak the text size so reading isn’t an issue but it’s small enough to just fit in my pocket and go and I love that about it makes it easier to keep on me and read when I can! Next the design it’s sleek and simple and for a device that you use to read book it feels like it’s a simple solid design! Now the functionality of it I struggle with reading and focusing in general so that the reason I bought this I could have downloaded an app and read the books on my phone or iPad but struggling to read like I do I get distracted easily so I decided to try this out and so far I have been extremely satisfied with it’s for sure worth it if you want to read more but get distracted easily this will help you focus more on the book and the read then the distraction that come with other devices. Lastly the price this one I’m a little torn on I did go for the bigger size which was more and then the surcharge for the version with no ads seemed a bit unnecessary but I did get 3 months of the kindle subscription so that will help me decide over then next few months if I really deem it worth the extra money and I will update later down the road but so far I am satisfied and I have started The Hobbit book I am loving it so far! (Oh yeah also you can hook up Bluetooth headphones and listen to audiobooks as well which I also love that feature as well cause same thing as before I get distracted easily notifications can make me stop my book and then I’m lost this there is no interruptions so that is another great feeling about this device!) One thing I will say is I wish I could simultaneously listen to the audiobook and read along side the text at the same time but it’s okay I still love it!

Great buy for an avid reader!
The display is so easy to read - it does flash black every few pages but I learned it’s to prevent the words from the previous pages to still show. It’s quick to flip pages, I’ve noticed it lags in the store slightly when downloading books but nothing too crazy. All in all it’s a great device that’s so easily portable and makes reading in your spare time so easy! I’ve had this a week and have already finished 4 books, I should’ve got this sooner!

A Great Kindle
Light weight. Doesn’t feel heavy while reading. Nice bright light to prevent eye strain. Worth the money

Good: battery life, screen quality. Not so good ergonomics compared to oasis.
Battery life, responsiveness, and screen quality is great. Ergonomics are not. Power button is at the bottom where I like to rest a finger. Also the bezel edges are narrow so sometimes I will inadvertently turn pages (this is remedied by the disable screen option). Honestly this is a downgrade from the oasis that I had to get rid of because that battery was getting old. I’m baffled they’re not going to make that anymore. That design was lighter and the buttons made it so I didn’t always had to adjust when I wanted to scroll pages.

Easy to use even while holding your baby.
I was really worried going in and buying a kindle that it was going to hurt my eyes like a computer or my iPad does. I was really happy to find that it does not hurt my eyes and I can happily read while holding my newborn baby without having to hold a giant book. The size is perfect. The color is beautiful. I think it’s a great value for your money. 10/10 recommend.

Finally Pulled the Trigger and Bought an eReader
*This is an unpaid, unsponsored review with no AI involved. For years, ever since eReaders became a thing, I've considered purchasing one. The idea behind them is great: hold tons of books, have a massive battery life, a screen that's readable on the brightest of days, etc. As great as they seemed, however, I held to my deep-rooted belief that physical books were superior. You can't beat the feel of a physical book! You can't beat the smell of cracking open a brand new book, or especially a good old one! Having books on your shelf looks great and shows your reading accomplishments! About a month ago and for a number of reasons, I decided to finally pull the trigger on an eReader (specifically the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition) and boy am I impressed. First thing's first. This is NOT a tablet. It's not going to be as fast at navigating as your smartphone. The user interface isn't going to have a homescreen that you're used to with phones/tablets. It's not going to have the ability to download other apps to use. AND THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF IT! This is a device solely dedicated to reading. There are no notifications popping up while you use the kindle app, no whispers from it telling you to take a peak at your social media apps. All that being said, here are some quick bullet points about the Kindle that I've been enjoying immensely: - The size of the Paperwhite Signature Edition is perfect. Large enough to feel substantial and bigger than your phone, but compact enough to fit into small bags/purses or large pockets. - The weight, or should I say lack thereof, is crazy. It's incredibly light, especially after being so used to reading physical books. It's much more comfortable to hold/relax with, whether it be on the couch, reading chair, or lying in bed. - The screen IS pretty dang awesome without the glare of glass screens on tablets/phones. I've sat out in direct sunlight at the height of Summer and had absolutely no issue reading comfortably with no glaring issues. - The battery is absolutely kick-butt. The description says "up to 12 weeks" which seems like a wild amount of time, but I bought mine around late-July and have charged it to full once and it's still about 60ish%. (Keep in mind I do have it on airplane mode the majority of the time. Again, it's for reading, not being on the internet) - This version has the backlight which, to me, is a must on an eReader. It has a slider for strength so that you can have just the right amount of light for the area you're reading in. My personal favorite, is that the lowest settings are so gentle that it doesn't disturb my wife when reading in bed. - The 32gb of storage may seem small, but that's because of the association with phone storage. 32gb can store 10,000+ ebooks, so you needn't worry about running out of space any time soon. If I were to make one small criticism, it would be that the navigation/user interface can be a little jarring if you're not already used to navigating a kindle/eReader. As stated above, this isn't a tablet or phone. The way the screen/tech works, makes the kindle take a little more time to update your screen when scrolling/navigating. Definitely not something to worry about, though. There are a whole host of other things I could compliment about the Kindle. Goodreads integration, the ability to use Libby (library app on most app stores, check it out if you haven't already!), the waterproofing, largely adjustable font size, optional subscription to Kindle Unlimited, ability to read graphic novels, etc etc etc. To wrap up this essay-long review: if you're considering buying an eReader, I highly suggest it. I'm sure I'll still buy some physical copies of certain books in the future (gotta keep the shelves at home looking good) but so far, this is a cool, functional, fun piece of tech that will see a lot of use in your reading adventures.
