Just got this unit today. Helmet fits nice and is light, quality does not seem like it's going to last. The shading flickers while welding and that is concerning as I value my vision. I have contacted company, so will update my experience.Update 5-14-2024: YesWelder was very responsive in providing another unit to replace the defective helmet. I own a yeswelder YWM- 200 with aluminum spool gun and I plan on purchasing the 7 in 1 uni, so it's reassuring they are backing their products.PAPR unit seems to work OK, didn't use the unit as I want to get the helmet figured out. One thing to note, is they give you an extra filter which is nice, I thought it was the one you needed to install, so I tried removing the lid to the filter. Wow was that a chore and I thought I was going to have to break the unit.Update 5-11-2024: company responded that an affiliate would reach out and never heard anything. I used the unit today for a about 3 hours. I could smell fumes and smells that I don't smell with my 3M 100 respirator mask. And since it seemed like the spool gun fumes (yes welder spool gun) were drawn in by the fan that doesnt blow much air. The only thing I think its ok for is grinding, though due to the dark screen its harder to see what is going on. I am returning the unit. Tried to provide video on issues; however, they sent me another unit unrequested. Even though I know the filtration still lets fumes through as I can smell them, I wanted to see if the filter access was still difficult to access and yes it is clunky and seems like it will break soon. The helmet arrived compressed so much so that the fragile looking rear head strap is warped and less comfortable than the last one. I tried seeing if this helmet would work in the sun and it still behaves the same as the last helmet. This seems to not be a good product without more modifications. I will say I have completed a few more products recently and I am very happy with my aluminum spool gun Welder and I am looking to get the 7 in 1 in the next few weeks depending on some large projects.Yeswelder has stated they can not complete a return request on this unrequested replacement, so well see.6/9/2023 YesWelder did refund the purchase of the Papr and allowed me to keep the unit. Haven't gotten around to using it. But will be nice to use to grind metal.

The battery packs will only take about 6 or 7 charges before it quit charging completely. we have $1,200 worth of welding hoods that we cant use. Have been trying to rectify the situation for over a year. Customer service is a great big joke. I will never reccomend this product ever.

I make truck beds for a living, and I got switched to the aluminum building from steel and started having coughing fits that I attributed to the fumes. I tried some masks that didn't work, and was recommended PAPR hoods. This is the only one I can find that isn't priced like a used car. I've been using it for the last 4 or 5 months and I don't have coughing fits anymore and I feel better, but I was disappointed with several things.I was expecting at least 2 batteries so I could swap em out when one dies and have one charging all the time. The one battery it comes with does last very long though. I spend about 8 hours out of the 24 to make a common dump bed welding and I can go a whole 2 weeks without charging it. So about 28 hours of use before it dies.This would be impressive if the power of the fan was stronger. It barely moves the test flow meter that came with it at the max setting. It still makes enough positive air pressure to keep fumes out but it does not cool you off like I expected.I'm also not a big fan of yeswelder helmets the plastic ratchet harness that controls how tight it is usually strips the teeth and won't stay tight after that happens, you gotta be careful with it. I'll probably Jerry rig all the stuff off this helmet onto my viking hood after this one breaks.Edit: been using for bout a year now, and the battery no longer charges. Left it on the charger for a week and when i turn it on the battery is still low, and flashes the warning light. Lowering the review score to 3 because i cant seem to find a replacement battery.

Battery does not hold charge for the price it’s not that great

I use to get sick from the welding smoke coming up into my old welding helmet but since using this helmet I don’t get sick. I can weld all day now without ill effects. Highly recommend.

I had previously reviewed this product negatively. The air pack had problems within the first hour of usage. I contacted the manufacturer and within a week the defective part was replaced and the product was back in service. The product is relatively inexpensive for what you get. Time will tell the longevity of the product. Don’t forget that this setup is a third to a quarter of the cost of the more popular setups. I will update this review in a month .
