Very fast germination rate! Love the tiny seedlings!!
I stored these seeds in my fridge all last summer and through this winter. I just decided to plant them not expecting them to germinate any time soon since the package says on average, 14-30 days to germination. But just two days after planting they sprouted!! I couldn't believe it. What I did was just sprinkle the seeds on the very top of the soil since they were really tiny. Then I took a plate that I filled with water and placed the pot on it. This way the soil would suck up the water from the bottom. Then I took my spray bottle which sprays out a fine mist of water and spritz the seeds over and over until the top soil was nice and moist. I would spray them every couple of hours to insure the seeds wouldn't dry out. Before going to sleep I would cover them loosely with a zip lock bag that I cut so it was flat. That was just to keep it humid so I wouldn't have to worry about the seeds drying out over night. I kept them in my kitchen most of the time where the temp. is usually 75 to 85 degrees only putting them out on my porch if there was morning sun. I kept them stored in the fridge because every on-line site I went to said to do that if you want to store your seeds for prolonged periods. I wasn't sure it was going to work but I tried it anyway. The seedlings arevery tiny and cute. I can't wait till they get bigger.I'm updating this review to add that I love how the sedums spread, but they ended up infested with aphids. So, for anybody who wants to grow these, just keep a look out for aphids.I hope this helps anybody whose ever had trouble trying to germinate extremely tiny seeds. Last year I planted some seeds from Stachys Byzantine, also called "Wooly Sheep Ears". The plant looks similar to Lambs Ears but they're actually a lot woolier. Anyway, the seeds of that plant were also very tiny and I treated them the same way and they sprouted and grew into these wonderful fluffy leafed plants.
