These suck a LOT of moisture out of the air, I change them out probably every 2 months. They only transfer the vanilla scent to the clothes directly next to the packs, but do overall give my closets a nice vanilla scent (no real detectable lavender, but no matter to me, it doesn't smell like nasty car air freshener vanilla).
