Unexpectedly good!
The gimmick attracting buyers to this guitar is its self-contained speaker-amplifier and rudimentary onboard modeling that allows electric players to enjoy the untethered freedom of an acoustic guitar. For sure I think the sounds coming out of the guitar are adequate and useful, though hardly inspiring. But what I didn’t expect was that the fundamental guitar itself, plugged straight into an amplifier, would be as good as it is. The playability is off the charts. The carbon-fiber body construction, which also makes the guitar virtually impervious to temperature, humidity, and even nicks and dents, allows for an excellent ‘set neck’ type of design that allows for unfettered access to the highest frets. I can ‘handshake’ the guitar at the 19th fret! The neck itself feels great and its dimensions are super friendly to smaller hands. There is of course, no lacquer, polyurethane or paint finishing of any kind on my all black model, and the neck has that non sticky satin feel that is very comfortable. The tones available from the HSS layout cover a lot of sonic ground and can be satisfactorily substituted for the expected S-style tones while not sounding exactly the same. The humbucker produces a thick snarly tone into a distorted amp but when you pull the volume pot it puts those two coils in parallel (not a coil-split) giving you the desired ‘thinner’ sound without the usual drop in volume. This alone was an intelligent choice other makers might want to consider. Clean tones are full and rich, yet retaining the bell-like clarity when using single coils, or sounding smokier and jazzier using the humbucker; very nice. The truss-rod adjuster is a wheel at the bottom of the neck just above the neck pup, where they should all be. The back of the guitar exposes a similar wheel for adjusting the spring claw, a novel approach that makes that job easier. The tremolo bar is the now acknowledged preferred two-point design that operates very smoothly and stays in tune well within the usual limits a for non double-locking types. The guitar is relatively light, and its dimensions put it clearly in the hot-rod class of super-strats. Because of its tonal flexibility as well as outstanding playability, it is now my ‘first reach’ guitar whenever I play. I would absolutely gig with this guitar, especially since its resistance to climate effects makes it the perfect choice for playing outdoors. Many traditionalists will not even consider this guitar because it contains no wood. That’s a pity and I think they will be missing out on an innovative and outstanding guitar that Enya could be charging a lot more than the $489 I paid for it. The onboard modeling amplification adds some ‘grab-n-go’ utility for practicing or a campfire sing-along, but IMHO it’s not the main attraction. This is very simply one of the best solid-body electric guitars I have ever played in my nearly 60 years! (Mic drop…..)

Unsolicited, Unpaid and not Unhappy.
I have had many guitars over the years both electric and acoustic. Love the solitude of just getting lost in time playing guitar. As an intermediate guitar player I’m not incredible but really enjoy playing. I hated the hassle of cords amps and pedals when playing electric guitar. Found myself playing with headphones a lot but still needed an an amp for that. One day I saw some videos for Enya online and I was hooked. Could I really enjoy the cool sound of an electric guitar without all the hoopla of cords pedals and amps. Yep. Sure can. I bought the Enya Inspire and was very hesitant because how good could it really be. Well let me tell you. I have had probably 25 guitars over the years, some high end some cheaper models. Currently have a 40 yr old vintage Martin D28 and now this beautiful all black Enya Inspire. The build quality is top notch. Arrived in almost perfect setup condition with only a minor tuning adjustment needed but the action was set perfectly. The feel of the neck is so smooth and absolutely no fret hangover found found on a lot of cheaper guitars which will tear your hands up quickly. The electronics are also top notch with two high quality single coil and one high quality humbucker pickup. The sound from the built in speaker is impressively loud kind of like a a good quality mini amp sound. Plenty loud for home use. Gig bag is quite nice with a single backpack strap and a handle but molded soft areas keep guitar in a perfect safe position inside the bag. Can’t say enough good things about the guitar and love that it’s carbon fiber and I don’t have to worry about leaving on a stand in a slightly cooler environment than the rest of the house. Just stays in tune. Get a strap. Heavier, kind of like my previous gold top Les Paul but nothing crazy. I had to contact the company for a minor issue upon arrival. Nobody is perfect and let me tell you dealing with this company was just so refreshing. They truly care about their customers and while it’s email support it’s amazing, fast and caring. Not many companies out there like this one anymore. I don’t normally writes reviews and I was not paid to write this one. I paid for my Inspire. I look forward to many years of enjoyment. On the fence about this guitar? Just buy it. You will not regret it.

Smart Features, Durable Design, and Exceptional Playability and Versatility in One Package
Build Quality & Comfort The INSPIRE’s high-quality plastic construction gives it solid, well-balanced feel while weighing just under 8 lbs., that's over 1 lb. less than my Fender Strat. While this may not seem significant at first, the lighter weight noticeably reduces fatigue during extended play sessions. The Strat-style body makes it very comfortable to play while sitting or standing. Its seamless build eliminates visible joints, the one exception being a removable plate on the back (all screws having a rubber covering to increase comfort) to presumably access the electronics inside. The fretboard has a smooth plastic finish, and the frets have rounded edges that stop just short of the edge of the fretboard, further improving comfort and playability as you play up and down the neck. Setup & Playability Out of the box, the INSPIRE arrives fully set up, requiring only a quick retune before playing. The action is low and well-adjusted, and the tension in the neck was set perfectly from factory. The string spacing and neck profile also feels very comfortable in my hands, allowing my stubbier fingers to comfortably play an A-chord using 1-2-3 fingering as opposed to 2-1-3 fingering. The closed tuners function smoothly and look great on this guitar. Smart Features & Sound Customization One of the standout features of the INSPIRE is the built-in sound processor and 15W speaker, which delivers rich, dynamic tones without requiring the additional purchase of effects pedals or external amplifiers. The guitar has an effects button that lets you cycle through 4 presets. Using the Enya Music app paired with your guitar, you can completely customize these presets using virtual pedal effects like amp model, equalizer, modulation, noise reduction, delay, and reverb. You also get access to additional presets in the app, a volume mixer, and other settings to adjust guitar behavior and updates. Also worth mentioning is the SSH pickup configuration and 5-way pickup selection switch that offers tonal flexibility to play multiple genres, and the push-pull volume knob enables coil switching to further enhance the guitar’s sonic range to dial in the sound you're looking for (a feature that is typically associated with higher-end guitars). Practicality & Versatility The INSPIRE has 3 ports: a 3.5mm headphone output, a 1/4" TS output jack, and USB-C for charging the built-in battery. While I haven't formally tested battery life, I've consistently been able to play for extended sessions without needing to recharge. This guitar is great and convenient for practice sessions since it can be played relatively silently with headphones plugged in (the natural sound of the strings is still audible due to the hollow plastic construction). It can also be played using the built-in speaker or plugged into an interface or external amp, all of which will also include whatever internal sound effects you have enabled in your preset. This versatility allows the use of the INSPIRE for private practice at home, recording sessions, and live performances without much additional hardware. Final Thoughts The Enya INSPIRE combines exceptional craftsmanship, modern features, and thoughtful design into an instrument that is comfortable, intuitive, and highly playable. For continued practice, casual sessions, and flexible sound shaping, it stands out as a top-tier option that balances innovation with practicality. Why trust my review? I am not a professional guitar player, but I appreciate a fine instrument. I've been playing ukuleles and guitars since 2020, and I've explored several instruments that balance quality, playability, tonality, and durability. Since my first purchase of an Enya Nova U Mini ukulele for poolside use, I immediately fell in love with the fit and finish of Enya's plastic instrument. Later purchasing the Nova U Pro (tenor ukulele), the Nova Go (3/4 acoustic guitar), and most recently this Nova INSPIRE, these consistently high-quality products provide great value for your dollar that have resulted in me putting more hours into playing them than my more expensive wooden instruments. Enya's customer support has also been very responsive and helpful to work with. I haven't yet played or handled their non-plastic instruments, but I can wholeheartedly recommend all of the above.

First Impressions...
I previously purchased an Enya ukulele, acoustic guitar, and now this Inspire ST. I am a working musician doing gigs on a regular basis. I was impressed with my first two purchases from Enya, so, naturally I was very interested in the electric ST version. I chose white... It's a strange kinda white. Almost an off white with a yellow tint. In certain light it looks yellow. She is unexpectedly heavy! The weight is pretty much the same as any wood guitar. I was expecting lighter. I actually own a few guitars made of wood and carbon fiber which are much lighter. This guitar is a full carbon fibre body and neck as I understand it. The neck is what I need to be straight and stay that way all year around. Wood can be a bit annoying with the changing seasons. I find myself making truss rod adjustments all throughout the year. A carbon fibre neck should tackle that problem with out a doubt. My acoustic Enya and ukulele haven't budged since I first set them. Great guitar out of the box! Quality craftsmanship and it looks good too. The built in amp and effects sound pretty good out of the onboard speaker, and the volume is pleasant. The feel is awesome while the action was low enough. I lowered it to my preferences with the supplied tools. Setup is very easy for this guitar. I like the zero fret design choice. Turn it off and plug it into my stage gear... Sounds great! So far, so good... ENYA! PLEASE READ! This guitar needs "Locking Tuners"! Putting a whammy bar on a guitar will ruin it's tuneability. The tremolo bar is not well secured onto the bridge plate and has a tendency to "wiggle" around inside the hole. The design is inferior and will fail. I highly suggest just doing what the rest of the world does and fit these lovely guitars with a Floyd Rose system. They used to offer licensing for in house production. I don't know if they still do. Kahler would also suffice as suitable locking tremolo system. But, at a minimum, this guitar seriously needs locking tuners. I already have some to replace the stock tuners on order. The springs in back of the guitar are a little bit noisy, I'll quiet them down with dampers I have on hand. Why is there two volumes? I love this guitar, although, it needs a little bit of improvement. Luckily, I have the tools and materials to make this an unstoppable beast. I will return with a new review noting my work and experiences with this fine instrument. Thank you Enya for entering this market with a fresh idea! You keep makin' em' and improving them, I'll keep buying them! A final suggestion... make a version of these guitars without the amp and speaker. Just the guitar. Thank you! Have a great day!

SS taken to new limits!! Exceptional guitar!! Enya App needs to be redesigned!
The best of all Enya’s guitars!! Top 5 rating across the board! Amazing guitar fit finish sound features superior sound and qualities hands down. Presets are ok considering 4 options that are called up even when the app is not running. Hope that Enya has a future sw update with more options and settings. Would like an acoustic guitar preset! Love it and plays like a dream!! Update on the guitar, in all ways the guitar plays great, neck is spot on and straight as an arrow after some setup work, string action also perfect. Fast playing neck - electronics and pickups are also sound amazing. Playing thru the onboard speaker is a nice advantage but I found best sound is outbound to my mackie mixer then to my amp. I am also using a boss sy-200 synth pedal for unique compliments to augment songs I play! I have other pedals I don’t use. I am stuck in a bygone era and prefer melodies and sounds of the past greats. I don’t accentuate scales or speed to sound fancy - think Django amazing speed with 2 normal fingers on neck hand but his harmonies arpeggios, runs and melodies and style still incomprehensible today and played on his old Gypsy guitar! Now the ugly and the sad about this guitar, the tents app is deplorable imho. The presets poor quality, I flattened them using the eq. Delay, vibrato, reverb, and noise gate are fair. Of them all I basically flatten them to 0 except for the eq and nr. Most significantly are the amps - a clean and high gain - both useless to me and sound repo not there. I would like to see Enya scrap the app start over with better sounding amps including a real tweed, Marshall, and acoustic amp with parameters. Standard Petals should sound better, and finally add a guitars pedal, acoustics, electric strat and Paul and prs, and jazz type. I am able get some voices like Santana, Clapton, Allman, and Hendrix tones straight out of the guitar but it takes some doing as the presets all sound muddled to me so I eliminated them and mostly turn off the digital effects. That’s my take on the guitar, app not so good, guitar fantastic and worth the price!

Buzzing/humming interference
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The guitar appears to be good at the beginning when I started playing. After about one hour into playing, it started to buzz and would not stop. When playing in all overdrive modes, there is a constant and increasing buzzing/humming interference that does not stop until you place your hand over the strings. See my video. I contacted Enya troubleshooting and they told me to adjust the equalizer and noise levels in the app, which I did. When you do this, the overdrive no longer sounds like overdrive because the equalizer has to be turned low to stop the buzzing. I believe there is an interference between the overdrive signal and the built in speaker amp. I contact Enya 2 to 3 times by email and they kept telling me to preset to factory setting and also to change the equalizer. I told them that I did what they said, and it did not work but they reply the same thing over and over and no other solutions. I was disappointed because I thought it was cool guitar due to the built in amp but it didn’t work well. Since my last email to them, they didn’t bother to follow up to see if the guitar is working better or any other solution.

A 21st Century Guitar for 21st Century Guitarists
A company always takes the risk of appearing “gimmicky” when they try to add new options to a well established product. Let’s face it, the electric guitar has been around for almost a century and can one really be innovative with such a well recognized and cherished instrument. Well, I believe that Enya has done just that with their new Inspire guitar. There are several excellent color options to chose from, and even though I am partial to blue I couldn’t resist the very striking purple design. The instrument hadsnice action right out of the box and the finish is an eye-catching semi-gloss purple sunburst. Where this guitar shines and offers something quite different than the others in my collection is the many options one has to manipulate the tone of the instrument. First of all, there is an internal speaker which lends itself well to just picking up the guitar and playing when “inspiration” strikes. Its carbon fiber construction provides more freedom in taking the guitar wherever your heart desires. Need to keep your noodling to yourself? Just bring earphones and enter your own private nirvana. Want to play along with a jam track or a song recording, just make a wireless connection to your phone or tablet and your playing joins the mix through the guitar’s speaker or plugged in earphones. In playing the electric guitar, there are two crucial matters that one need to be considered that would normally be external and independent of the instrument. This is not the case with the Enya Inspire. As previously noted, the internal speaker eliminates the need for an external amp if one is practicing or just playing at home. Need to play with the band? A standard output is provided to plug that baby in and rock out. The second matter to consider is the sound or tone you want to achieve with your instrument. This usually requires a modeling amp or foot pedal to get what you want. Again, the Inspire shines in this category. The guitar comes with four separate presets onboard. These include choices for clean, overdrive, distortion and high gain. Don’t like the preset choices? Make a wireless connection to the Enya music app on your device and each preset category includes four separate options for that particular tone. You can cycle each in real time playing your guitar while changing the sound on your device. If additional sounds are needed, each tone sound in a particular area can be edited, saved, and seamlessly sent to the guitar. A five position pickup selector switch adds additional tone options from the pickup array. I believe that this guitar is for anyone who has a desire to create from beginner to advanced players. It is designed to be played, regularly, in whatever setting you may find yourself when inspiration strikes.

Quality guitar with innovative design.
I was a little skeptical but hopeful this was really all the influencers claimed this guitar to be. I'm not disappointed. I have a few professional (pricey) guitars, but the last few years I've really been into quality affordable gear. Some of it is good, some not so good. This is really good. The material and workmanship of the Enya is top notch. I like this carbon fiber composite material of which it is built, silky smooth, just the right weight and the tone... as good as any guitar I've played. Even without the builtin amp or plugged in, the guitar resonates quite well. You can hear and feel what you're playing quite well. I am a fan of the zero fret design, which in my experience works better at keeping the guitar in tune than most traditional plastic or bone nuts (unless the nut has been finely honed and crafted by a luthier or good guitar tech). The tuners are quality tuners. The truss rod adjustment, so much easier to adjust at the body than the neck and super easy with the tools provided. And this innovative tremolo/vibrato/whammy bar spring tension adjustment is brilliant! If you need to go lighter or heavier with your string gauge, this spring adjustment makes it so convenient to dial in the trem again. The builtin amp is solid with plenty of thump. The cleans all the way to the high gains are good. If you want some feedback, it'll sing, beyond fun since the speaker is in the body, but very controllable. The app is a little finicky (I've only tried iOS version) but it'll let you try new sounds, add effects and assign up to four patches on the guitar. This is a great practice and learning tool as well. But even without all the fancy "smart" builtin features, this is guitar worth the price for learning, practice, recording or live performance. It seems really durable and unaffected by humidity and temperature and seems to be something that'll give years of service. Finally I sent a question about the guitar and customer service was prompt and friendly. It looks like Enya will be a well recognized name in the guitar and music world.
