Improved kidney values!
Prior to introducing this supplement to my cat, his blood work results came back with borderline kidney values. About 2 months later he needed another blood panel for separate reasons and his kidney values were had actually improved! Not sure if it’s due to this supplement or not, but it also help with consistent solid poops, so I’m a fan and have repurchased since. Cats don’t mind the taste at all.

Seeing improvement in gut health
For 6 weeks my kitties are eating it mixed along with their food, daily. I see a big improvement in their litter habits, so it definitely has a positive impact on gut health. Will know more with regard to kidney function after the next bloodwork.

Good supplement but messy to portion and give
I got this in addition to their regular probiotic powder since one of my cats is slowly approaching his senior years and kidney disease is one of the leading causes of death among cats. All my cats eat it in their food no problem. I think it has a noticeable scent but they don't seem to mind eating it. That being said, the serving size is one scoop which is a lot of powder to put on wet food. It's also somehow messier than their regular probiotic powder, possibly because it's a finer consistency. The quality of the product seems good but as I said, its just more messy. The scoop is also a different shape/size to their regular probiotics and is frequently buried under the powder. I don't love the idea of digging around in it to fish out the scoop since I'm worried about possible contsnimation. I don't tend to give the full scoop or give it every day for these reasons. I haven't noticed any effects from it but wasn't expecting to. My cats already had good digestive health and don't have low energy to begin with. Two of my cats do have dandruff that hasn't worsened or improved with this supplement. I wouldn't expect one of the applications of this powder to be improved skin health since it's marketed for kidney support. My goal is simply to try to prevent kidney disease if I can. Probiotics are always a good idea and there are plenty of studies showing their effectiveness in maintaining and improving health.

USE WITH CAUTION
Three stars because the company omits critical information. This product contains 20 mg of Chitosan, which is a PHOSPHORUS BINDER. While not as high a concentration as a phosphorus binder product like Epakitin (80 mg), it can still affect medications if given together or too close together. Neither the product label nor the Fera website mention this or caution that it should be given at minimum 2 hours after medications. My cat is getting a uremic binder already and is NOT a candidate for a phosphorus binder yet. He has a lot of oral medications I have to space out for absorption time. Had I not read the label and researched it, I would have grouped this “supplement” with some of his meds and that could have harmed his already compromised health. Neither of my CKD kitties appear to like the taste, even in Chicken Temptation Purrees. I even tried half a scoop with no success. Looks like chicken bullion. No smell to me. Can’t comment on effectiveness as they won’t eat it and I’m not going to keep switching around their med routine to keep attempting it.

It worked for us
This works, I thought we were about to call Lap of Love. It took about 5 days to notice a difference, but at 20 days she was her feisty self. 14 year old tabby

They all refuse to eat anything with this stuff on it.
This stuff is way too overpowering to sprinkle on their food. My cats pretty much eat anything and they flat out would rather starve than eat anything this stuff touches. I’d give it zero stars but that’s not an option.

This helped my 20 yr old cat!
I can't speak to the exact science or medical results, but I know this helped prolong my boy's life and gave him a better quality last year than he would have had judging by how things were before I started him on this. THAT'S what matters to me! I've already started my 6 yr old on other Fera supplements!

I think this is likely a decent product. Unfortunately, my cat refuses to consume any food that I have added it to.

My cat has fairly advanced CKD, and I'm hoping that this supplement at least eases things for him. I have no disillusionment that this will be some sort of cure, I've been down this road before and it's going to end the same. All I can hope is that I can give a few more comfortable months to my kitty before it's time, and it's worth trying for that. From the ingredients list, I don't have much opinion, but nothing stands out as being too weird. So far it's going down well enough mixed into a meal, and hopefully I can slow the descent somewhat.

So far my cat doesn't recognize I've added this to his food. Too early to know if it's helping his CKD. Customer service is excellent.
