ESV Super Giant Print(Font Size - 17pt) Bible (TruTone, Black)

Hope this is helpful for those seeking a "large/giant print bible.I read the reviews. Was a bit concerned about text bleed through and ease of reading. No such problem with the Bible received, don't need to use the black sheet at all. It is of excellent quality, especially for the price, when considering the quality of the paper, binding and gold finish on the edges - and it contains 2500 (7"x10") printed pages on bible quality paper. The large 17 pt type is the solution to my current needs. The book feels, looks and handles like a real Bible with the exception the large book size and weight it has to be because of the size type provided. The double column, font usage and spacing of the lines make reading comfortable. Would agree that it may be beneficial to see Jesus' words in red ink but can imagine adding that would have increased production costs so then the retail price. I have other bibles to reference for that if needed.To help you weigh my review I have recently purchased 5 other bibles. Here are a few ... NKJV giant print - like the bible, but version is a bit outdated, type size is ok but not as large and readable as the giant print ESV. The NIV giant print bible I purchased was a bit of disappointment in that the font size was not as large as imagined and so not as usable. I started out this purchase journey with a NIV large print and found that would seem to be to me a "normal" book font size. Stumbled into the ESV version reluctantly as had been using the NIV 1984 for years and thought I preferred it. After getting more acquainted with the ESV I'm finding it is very usable and affordable. The translation is solid.Additionally, found the ESV audio bible in several different resources from "free" inside my LOGO's bible study software, to $15 to download on their website to put on any mp3 player to $18 on Kindle - so purchased the ones I need and can now listen and/or read on any device and reading/study program I may be using in the same bible translation.May I share something the Lord just walked me into understanding? As you read your bible daily write the verse(s) the Holy Spirit "speaks" to your heart personally on 3x5 index cards. Stack them up and memorize one a day. I found numbering for the days of the month (1-31) on a folded 8.5x11 white paper, staple the top and bottom outside corners so you can slip the 31 cards for that month in the pouch, writing the first 4 words of the verse next to that days number helped me work through the daily process of organizing, remembering and repeating all of them each day so they "all" get permanently memorized into my heart - adding each month onto the next. Over time you will find a pattern to organize them into themes speaking into your life and can re-arrange them to fit together. After just one year you will have 365 in your heart! Imagine what God can do in changing our image into His image over the next 5 to 10 years. I usually use a tablet or browser to read and study the bible, but I wanted a print version that I could read during an extended power outage. I'm legally blind, and with a sheet magnifier I can read this comfortably in controlled lighting, and I find myself using it more than I though I would. The font is perfect and easy on the eyes.This is a heavy bible, at ~ 4 lb 15 oz (2.24 kg). but that's expected with such large print. I didn't see an option to exclude gilded edges. A good heavy-duty leather-like cover seems to be sturdy enough to hold up to a lot of use.It includes a 'black-out' page to place behind what you're reading so you don't see the print on the reverse side of the page. Nice!

as a gift and its much easier for reading with the larger print due to cataracts and old age sight losses. large book and heavy. stays open on my desk with the soft cover which is a plus. would buy again

I love love this Bible, it’s beautiful, the letters is bigger in person than on the pictures, it’s big yea, huge yea, but I wanted a big Bible. Did I say I love this Bible.

I bought this Bible for my 94-year-old mother who already had a large print (14 pt) Bible but still struggled to read it. This font is a whopping 17 points and, with the much larger font and the generous spacing, allowed her to read it at arm's length with no problems. It is a full Bible - not abridged - so be aware that it is heavy for older people. Other than that, it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, she passed away only a few months after I bought it for her, but I love that she was able to read God's Word and find peace and comfort in her last days. Now I read from it and feel an even more special connection knowing her fingers touched those pages and I can be in the Word with her.

As I continue to age my eyes find it harder to strain at smaller text. Perfect solution, a large print bible; which has reduced the strain and allows me to read foe extended periods. Love word and love this bible.

This does not contain "commmentary" but the print is large--I estimate 14 pt font in Word. Great not to have to use "readers" or a magnifying glass to read a Bible.

Just got it today, very nice but it does not have an index. :-(

The print is great for reading while delivering a sermon and bedtime reading, not so good for carrying to lecturers.I love the feel of it and I'm very pleased that I purchased this bible.

I like this Bible, the rear cover came damaged. The inside liner is peeling back. The size of the print is awesome. I gave it 4 stars because of the damage.

This Bible is beautifully presented. Soft front and back covers make it very quick and easy to turn anywhere you want. The pages are crisp, the print is lovely and big. My mum can see the print really clearly even with cataracts.Definitely recommended

This is a really big heavy book but it is so easy to open on your lap and read. It is way too big to take to church unless it is used as a rostrum Bible.
