I buy this item because my wife's care givers suggest it. They are the experts.

The color is a little lighter than the pre-made, but it tastes exactly the same. The packets work perfectly in a 12oz bottled water. The mix conveniently dissolves in cold as well as room temperature water. I can't tell the difference between the packets and the original version. It has the perfect amount of sweetness. The sugar content is reasonable for the amount when added to water. It is exactly what you would expect from this brand. It provided good hydration while I was sick and water wasn't enough. It also helped with the nausea I was having, likely caused by dehydration. I would recommend adding this for travel as well as your purse or gym bag to keep on hand. The packaging is very convenient and small enough to keep around all the time.

Pedialyte is the best hydration product I've found. Other electrolyte beverages like Gatorade have plenty of sodium, but not nearly as much potassium. The sugar content isn't too high -- it's nonzero, but with proper hydration I haven't felt as tired and have probably burned off the calories. It's also easy to mix, although with the water bottles I get I do have to make sure to sip the water first so there's room in the bottle for the powder, otherwise the powder gets wet while still in the packet and that's a packet wasted, but that's not pedialyte's fault, that's mine. My one complaint is the item description, which says that each packet should be mixed with 16 oz of water. The actual packaging -- as shown in the photos -- shows that these packets mix with 8 oz of water. These half-size packets are too small to properly hydrate me so I'll have to use two every time. I think they copy-pasted the item description from an older version of this product which had packets that were twice the size, and I was very disappointed to get packets that were half the amount I was expecting for the price. If they fix the description and reply to this to let me know, I'll happily remove this paragraph and upgrade it to 5 stars.

Great product...works well for electrolytes

Bought the 100 pack expecting it to be the 17 gram individual packages like I've purchased in bulk in the past. It just showed up and at least for grape (the best flavor IMO) the 100 pack is now 8.5 gram packages, not 17g. And still being sold at the 17 gram 100 pack price. Disappointed. Probably going to return as a result.
