The following glitches spoled the complete experience:- 1. Volume knob is strange. Remains silent for almost a quarter turn them suddenly comes on af a high volume. Can't be used in the night or to go to sleep using timer. 2. Bass is poor. 3. Tried everything but not able to connect via BT or Aux Cable. Even when connected & other device us reflected on a Transmitter attached to the USB-C Port or even by using a wired passive adaptor as recommended. A lot of money & time was spent in the process 4. I don't understand why a Charger, BT Transmitter & passive adaptor can't be bundled with the Radio. It will save much heart burn & avoid disappointment. Update 30 Oct 2025 :- After inserting a 32 SanDisk TF Card & Installing latest version the Volume problem was sorted out & I am able to find many more Radion Station with a few added by Copying their URL's on the box given on the Choyung Wed Site that opened both by tying name of scanning QR Code. Experience improved vastly compared to earlier. Thus adding a Star.

I find this device very amusing as it can play over 40k internet radio stations and the idea behind building this type of radio at this price point is amazing. If you are buying to listen to FM just skip it. FM reception is very very poor in Bangalore City as it doesn't have an antenna. It looks cute and portable. Battery life is decent as of now. Bluetooth would have added more value but it doesn't have bluetooth. Best is that we can insert a sim for 4g Internet.

Firmware is problematic in response and user interface is also not good. Not good in design

Good radio,i usually listen before sleeping but this sounds loud at minimum volume position. Charging and sound output are same and placed between operating knobs which sometimes uncomfortable to use and with headphone connector is loose, slight movement of radio suddenly shift music to radio speeker which is annoying. Change of radio station may irritate you for the time it takes to broadcast the station. I started listening radio 3 decade ago and I am not happy with my purchase but I didn't return it

I have been using this radio everyday. It feels sturdy, compact and I think it will last long. I use it for mainly international radio stations. Live streaming if fantastic. Sound quality of this device is very good, but please don't compare it with bluetooth speakers like JBL. It is not for those who loves strong bass while listening music. It provides crystal clear sound that is enough for a radio listener. All the buttons are working fine. Voice assistant works well if you pronounce correctly. Operating this device is easy. Battery life is very good when you listen at 50% to 60% volume. I hope it will work well for couple of years. Just one minor issue - you need stable internet connection or wifi connection. First time connecting with the wifi is problematic. But after that it will work flawlessly.

As im radio lover so im in search of good radio so first i purchased GERAD radio from Amazon, 10,000/ price radio was good and pemium quality but FM signals in my area poor same way SW too so my money drained. Mean while i have seen Choyong as it is internet radio so you can listen all world stations anywhere where internet available so after so many inquries and consulting with choyong i purchased this A8W in fact i wanted to purchase lc90 price was 22998/ at that time but i had fear that i may loose amount if not run so i purchased this A8W on trial basis and im fully satisfied with it sound quality outstanding and catch all stations of world im listening FM stations of US, UK, Germany, colambia japan china nepal shrilanka kuwait clearly. Awasome radio, size is very small but sound is big oustanding quality of body everyone who radio lover they must buy thanks amezon for awesome quality.

This little pocket-sized radio is great. Very portable and good wifi antenna. It also has the capability to use eSIM in case you need to use cell tower data. You can purchase data packages from Choyong that are reasonably priced if you want mobile data activated. The speaker sound is on the high end as you would expect for a small speaker but still sounds good. The FM tuner is very basic but I purchased this radio for the internet radio stations so no problem there. It is good to know that I have FM in case I am out of wifi reach. The voice search needs more work since it doesn't recognize what I am saying or just partially. The LC90 (the big brother to this radio) has a much better voice search but in the beginning it was also spotty. I am hoping for a firmware update to improve the voice search. All together, I am happy with the purchase. Update 3-22-25: The updates are very easy over internet connection. A firmware update came out today. They fixed the voice search! It works great now so no more manual searching for me! Also they added podcasts to the menus so I can save my favorite podcasts! Game changer!! The podcasts are also voice searchable! This makes this little radio my second favorite portable entertainment next to my cell phone. I find it more enjoyable for Internet radio and podcasts rather than using cell phone apps and the radio is more durable.

I recently picked up this internet radio that has some great strengths but also a few quirks. The audio quality is solid, delivering clear and rich sound that’s perfect for streaming stations from around the world. What really sets it apart, though, is its stunning design—it’s absolutely beautiful and looks fantastic in any room. However, programming it is a bit of a challenge. The interface feels clunky and not as intuitive as I’d hoped, which made setup more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall, I’m giving it a 4 out of 5—it’s a great device once you get past the initial hurdles.

The device worked perfectly for about two months, but it suddenly stopped working and will no longer turn on. I also became a Choyong member so I could use the eSIM feature, which was advertised at $0.99 per month. However, in the second month my card was charged $14.99 instead. I attempted multiple times to contact customer support regarding the unexpected charge, but I never received a response or a refund. Based on my experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution.

This is the Internet Radio to get! I own several different brands of internet radio receivers, and I can tell you this is the best of the bunch. (Also the least expensive!). Almost any internet radio will allow you to find what you want to listen to from over 30,000 stations, but this little Choyong A8W additionally will search for Podcasts, and lets you save them into a separate folder from the stations. In fact, once you choose a Podcast, the A8W displays a list of all the episodes from that Podcaster! Another great feature is that you can search for new stations or podcasts simply by speaking: it recognises what you asked for and then you make your choice from the list it displays. The other radios require you to enter what you want one letter at a time, a very cumbersome process. Much easier to just tell the radio what you want, and so far as I know, only the Choyongs let you do this. The first A8W I received from Amazon had a very minor glitch with its rotary knob. I notified the seller, and they were very responsive: Once they determined the problem they sent me a second unit right away. So, if you want to get into Internet Radio, you should consider this little radio, not only for its attractive price but also because it does Podcasts as well as radio stations, and it's much easier to program than the other brands.

I enjoy this radio . The sound quality for the size of this radio is quite good .I use this outside doing yard work an it worked well.I also used it in my basement gym an had no pri connecting to my wifi. This was very impressive as my home gym is 3 flights of stairs an on the other end of my house ..My house is 3400 square feet an brick .The hardest part of using this radio is putting your password in for your wi-fi if you have a long password.. It might take you a total of a couple of min. Setup is easy other than that . Easy to read bright display an I have had very good battery life ..I played it at 50% volume for over 12 hrs an power dropped maybe 10%. I would highly recommend this radio very versatile .
