Really good piece of audio equipment if you are looking for good value then this is it!
was completely fed up of standalone speakers for my Mac and the poor quality of what (I thought) was a decent pair out of a well known electronic shop, I decided to give Ultimea a try. Already owning the entry level surround system for my main TV, I bought the 2.1 channel system to replace what I had plugged in to my Mac setup. Ok - first impressions, neat little unit offering USB, Bluetooth, Optical and aux cable inputs and an app to help you fine tune the audio to your liking. You can wall mount or as in my case, sling it under my monitor and still have access to the on unit controls - Plugged in and working straight out of the box - Initially connected via the supplied 3.5mm cable - no issues - Decided nah that's one too many wires - bluetooth connection to the Mac was pretty instant. Sound quality, ok I'm a bit of an audiophile so to say I was surprised is an understatement. - Crisp high notes (could be a litter crisper for my liking but I'm not complaining. - A decently punchy bass out of the sub. - A pretty decent dynamic sound - actually better stereo effect than the two stand alone speakers it replaced. Sometimes almost surround sound like if you are sitting in the right spot. - Ok this thing isn't massive but jeez it's got some power - haven't dared go full blast with it yet as I actually quite like my neighbours. definitely giving this 5/5 on value, styling, connectivity, sound quality and general ease of use - pretty darn decent bit of kit for the money. If all you are doing is replacing a speaker system for a pc or don't have a lot of room for a full 5.1 speaker kit, would definitely recommend.

Great sound for the money - genuinely hard to beat at this price.
Works brilliantly as a desktop PC soundbar, with punchy, clear audio and an easy setup. The Android app pairs quickly and makes the whole process simple. Excellent value overall.

Great sound, good quality, easy to set up. Bad android app leaves a nasty taste.
The good: The important bits are really good. The packaging did its job, the unboxing experience pleasant, and nice to have leads for all combinations. I chose to set mine up vertically and the stands work well. I'm using it via SPDIF/Optical for my desktop PC, both for gaming and music whilst I work. Both sound good and there's a good number of presets to make it easy to set it to your taste. I paid £99 for this in Q2 2025. I consider that fair value, and the quality of the components and the sound is noticably better than the £50 unit it replaces. The bad: 1. The Android app requires you to register for an account with Ultimea before you can configure the soundbar to change any settings. This means giving them your email address and even your date of birth before it will work. Why does Ultimea need my birthday? It's not alcoholic, it's not a weapon - just greedy information gathering for their benefit I strongly resent this and despite the quality of the unit, detract a star. One registered and logged in, the app has good functionality and a good UI, and once it's set up you can uninstall it and use the remote for daily operation. 2. No AAA batteries supplied for the remote. Even the cheapest Chinese product comes with them, so why not this mid-range soundbar? 3. It's not clear which speaker is left or right when setting them up vertically - it's not printed on them anywhere. I needed to use the picture of it assembled as a horizontal bar to figure that out. 4. There was an extended warrantee card included, but you have to scan the QR code to use it, there's no way to register using a desktop PC.

EXCELLENT VALUE
The ULTIMEA 5.1 Surround Sound System offers a surprisingly full home-theater experience at a budget-friendly price. Its setup includes a compact main soundbar, a wireless subwoofer, and two rear satellite speakers — a true “5.1” configuration that aims to bring immersive surround sound to your living room without the complexity (or cost) of a high-end receiver system. Sound Quality Immersion & Surround: For its price point, the system does a solid job creating a sense of directionality. The rear speakers add real spatial effects in movies, especially during action scenes, making it feel more cinematic. Bass: The subwoofer is powerful and delivers decent low-end punch. Thanks to ULTIMEA’s “BassMAX” tech, the lows feel controlled and not overly boomy — great for explosions and deep rumble without dominating the rest of the mix. Clarity & Dialogue: Vocals and dialogue are generally clear, particularly in the dedicated “Dialogue” mode. The mid-range is decent, though some users note a bit of a tinny or thin quality when turned up very high. Atmos / Surround Processing: While marketed with “Atmos” processing on some versions, it’s important to be realistic: there are no up-firing speakers, so it doesn’t deliver true 3D height effects like a dedicated Dolby Atmos system. Some of the surround comes from ULTIMEA’s algorithm (e.g. “SurroundX”) which transforms stereo input to a 5.1 feel. Build & Design The soundbar and rear speakers have a no-frills, functional design. Nothing too flashy, but they’re compact enough to fit under or beside a TV without dominating the space. The subwoofers shape means it can be tucked beside a piece of furniture. Setup is straightforward. According to the manufacturer, it supports simple plug-and-play connections for HDMI ARC, optical, RCA. There is an app that gives you EQ controls and several preset sound matrices, making it flexible for different content. Connectivity HDMI eARC / ARC for high-quality audio and ease of use with modern TVs. Bluetooth (5.3) for wireless music streaming. Wired options: optical in, 3.5 mm, RCA — gives versatility depending on your gear. Power & wiring: The rear speakers connect via wired connection to the subwoofer. uk.whatgeek Pros Excellent value: For a full 5.1 system, this is much more affordable than many comparable surround setups. Real surround experience: Unlike many “soundbars + virtual surround,” this gives you discrete rear speakers. Flexible EQ and app control: Ability to tailor sound to your preferences. Good bass: Subwoofer delivers solid lows without being overbearing. Relatively easy setup: No need for a full AV receiver; simpler to get going. Given the price, quality control can vary — some users suggest checking early and keeping the return window open. Use Case & Suitability This system is best suited for: Budget-conscious home cinema users who want legitimate surround sound without spending on a full AV receiver setup. Living rooms or small-to-medium sized rooms (ULTIMEA recommends around 20–35 m² for their 5.1 systems). Ultimea Gaming setups: The 5.1 surround provides a good spatial audio experience for games. Movie watching: Especially effective for cinematic content that benefits from surround effects. Overall Verdict The ULTIMEA 5.1 Surround Sound/System (Poseidon D50) is a seriously good value proposition for anyone stepping up from TV speakers but not ready (or willing) to invest in a full AV setup. It doesn’t match high-end systems in terms of refinement or raw power, but its real surround speaker setup, decent subwoofer, and flexible EQ make it a very compelling option for budget home theater.

I haven't bought a surround sound system before, I was skeptical of this because the price was pretty too good to be true. But I'm pleasantly surprised by the sound. I have a fairly large livingroom and it seems to took pretty well. I hat to turn on the functio amity for the earc dolby settings, for a while I thought it was the speakers not working but I got it. The front facing speaker doesn't seem to be that loud in comparison to the others, my wife complains she cannot hear the voices well against the base and rear speakers. But she's got a hearing issue. For me who doesn't it's pretty awesome! Finally get to pair my Bice to woth some surround sound. The setup was easy, the rear speakers don't have any hookups or ports on them for mounting I guess they're designed to sit on a shelf or something. So I'm going to make two little shelves for them on either side of the couch. The bluetooth connection is good there's no delay or mismatched audio from front to rear. They get really loud, you can feel the base and the surround is just cool. I recommend these speakers to anyone who's looking for some surround sound on a budget. Exept maybe audiophiles who are used to full on receiver setups or something. I use to just use a sound bar that was spose to emulate surround itself with no other speakers and it was garbage in comparison to this. I had a small bose sound bar and it was garbage compared to this. The rear and base speakers cannot be emulated. I hooked it up via optical cable and eArc hdmi so it switches automatically of dolby is available. The first movie I watched is Furiosa in dolby. And I cannot go back to just tv or soundbar alone. Hope this helps. Not a fake review,, you can tell by the rambling and lack of keywords lol 👍🖖

If you’re someone who uses the TV speaker or even a 2.1 soundbar, Poseidon D60 will actually make a lot of difference. I have a small apartment and I’ve placed Sub and two rear speakers at the back and soundbar near TV and it sounds amazing. The app works so well it’s got a decent set of features. Just when setting it up, use the same distances for the rear speakers. Subwoofer is pretty decent as well. The soundbar connects wirelessly to the subwoofer and it’s perfectly in sync all the time. Totally worth the money!

I'm very happy with the product, it performs very well for the price. A few things to note: 1) My old system would turn on with the tv, this dose not. I have to turn it on manually. Although no Biggy, it is annoying. 2) It came fitted with UK plugs. For an Australian its troublesome. But I find it works great. The sound is good - esp. with the 5.1 cannels - and it suits our small lounge. I'd defiantly buy it again!
