Especially at night, if I get up to use restroom or let our kitties in or out. Love these nightlights so much I bought a set for a friend, who loved them so much they immediately bought a set for their mother. The light is a nice and warm, but not too yellow, light. There is a switch on the side to set the brightness level, which isn't common for nightlights. You can set these to detect movement (which works very well) and turn on, or set them to light when it's dark and stay on. Bright enough in my bathroom that you can see what you're doing at night without having to turn the light on. Detects movement well enough to turn on before reaching a step that I don't want guests to trip over. Such a great price for two, I'll definitely get some more to give out as gifts and have a couple spares for myself.
