Beautiful, functional glass bottles
I'm surprised other reviewers have had issues with peeling colors. I have four of these bottles, each in a different color, and never had a problem. One gallon of water fills four of these glass bottles nicely (I have a perfectly sized little funnel just for that purpose). I wash them maybe a few times a month in soapy water. I use a long bottle brush on the insides, rinse well, air dry. I bought the red & orange bottles about 5 years ago & they look as new as the green & yellow ones which are recent purchases. I'm very happy with all of them - they look beautiful on the counter top or dining table and have served me well!I have several other Bormioli Rocco glass products (storage jars & lidded pitcher) dating back 8 years and have learned to trust this brand for reliability as well as design elegance.

Fine bottle and color, price higher then others
I prefer the other company’s slightly shorter bottles for half the price. Mainly price and they fit in your refrigerator door. These are the same size as wine bottles, both hold the same amount of liquid more or less. Color of glass is good and I see no problem of it coming off. Heated in sun and put in fridge. Top goes on and off easily even with arthritis. Prices very so much bottle to bottle which means it’s based on money and not solid company standards.

Green came as aqua
Love the bottle… but wanted the green shown… also if you take a razor, there seems to be paint that come off the bottle.

It is nice, but we like the blue color better.

Alternate choice for serving water at dinner party.
A little over-priced, but these types of bottles are hard to find out in retail. I came across one a few years ago at Home Goods for a 1/3 of the price, needed another for my table setting. I ordered the green.

Beautiful Bottles, Easy Restoration
(Purchased a set at Second Hand Store)There are many reviews talking about the bottles getting dingy and murky. The swing tops getting dingy and ruff and gaskets not sealing. All are easy fixes.1) My bottles have been washed multiple times and still are vibrant and clear. The color coating on the outside of the bottle loves to hold on to oil, wipe it thoroughly with a warm wet cloth and grease cutting dish soap. Don’t scrub on the bottle. For the inside fill and soak the bottle with hot (not boiling water) and dish soap. Invest in a cheap nylon bottle brush at any store (or here on Amazon). Use it to gently brush stubborn spots and deposits inside the bottle. I ferment and bottle my own wine and look how clean these second hand bottles are still. Rise the bottle by filling it turn it upside down and move the bottle in a circular motion until it starts to come out in a vortex. The turbulent water will carry out more of the dish soap per rinse. Do this a few times.2) [See Before and After Pictures] The swing top metal is easily cleaned using Bar Keeper’s Friend “Soft Cleanser” (liquid not the powder). Pull out on one side of the swing top retention clip and pull it away from the bottle gently so the glass does not scratch. Wet a rag or paper towel with the liquid Bar Keeper’s Friend. Rub the metal with the rag. You do not need to scrub hard or brush the metal. Just keep wiping and let the Oxalic Acid do it’s job. Do not get Bar Keeps Friend on the colored glass as the acid may remove the color (it is fine on clear glass, and a fine glass cleaner for clear versions). Wash the swing top with hot water to denature the acid and clean the metal. Gently pull the two clip ends apart again and place them around the bottle and back into the seating holes. Be gentle so you do not scratch the glass. [See Before and After Pictures]3) Gaskets are super cheap. You can get a bag of 50 silicon gaskets on here (Amazon) for cheap. If you are bottling Alcohol and you do not want to use silicon you can buy cork sheets and cut your own gaskets for the bottles from the sheet of cork. The color does not like abrasives. Use only Nylon brushes or soft bristle brushes and cloths. Use top rack if placing in a dish washer. Always dry the bottles upside down and open so the moisture drains out and you do not develop water spots. The color will inevitably fade or chip over time, but if you take care of the bottles they will stay colorful for years.Like I said I ferment and bottle my own wine. These bottles function beautifully. The glass is thick and strong, allowing slight carbonation. Such as Ciders and Sodas. I would not try to ferment a champagne or heavy carbonation beer in these bottles, but that is my opinion. The bottles swing tops are very easy to open. Once in a while you can get a stubborn bottle. Use both thumbs at the same time to push both sides forward and loosen the top. Over time the swing top will open easier. These are great bottles that add a wonderful splash of color.
