Three years going strong.
I’m writing this after the first night of use. Alarm was loud enough to actually wake me up, and was simple to use. I will report back here if I have further issues. (Written Feb/10/22). If no edits after this, assume it is working! Seems to be of quality!Edit 3/2025:I’ve now had this clock longer than I’ve kept anything at this point. I get tired of things pretty easily. It’s stayed with me through two moves now, and continues to work. I thought it might have started to give out about a week ago, due to it not keeping time, but I changed the battery and it’s working perfectly fine. I’ve changed the batteries 4 times since I’ve gotten it.

It is much loved by my 84 year old Mom! EASY TO READ!
I have to say, this has been one of my better purchases for my mom! She needed a replacement travel size clock for next to her bed. The requirements were simple. She wanted small, easy to read and easy to use. This Seiko clock checked all the boxes! I had it shipped to my mom who was able to easily get it up and running by herself and with ease. SHE LOVES IT!! I am so happy to make her happy! Trust me, if she didn't like it 100%, she would have had me send it back! Pictures to follow!

runs on c batteries
Pretty decent clock. Like just about every other "silent" analog alarm clock that I've come across, it isn't 100% silent. But it is silent enough as long as you don't place it within 1 ft of your ear. The alarm is a bell sound. The one thing that peeves me off about this clock is that I can't really open it up to oil the gears inside to make it quieter. There is an alarm knob on the back which seems to be impossible to take off without breaking something. Looks like some sort of push split system that the back knob is put on, which you need some sort of special tool to push together. Tried tweezers, but I don't have tweezers that are that thin and long enough...Update: I managed to get the back knob off, by using a pair of pliers and an allen wrench. You push down the knob of the split pin with the allen wrench that is just barely smaller than the size of the hole, and then push up on the other side with a pair of pliers. After you get the back knob off, then you can take the back cover off. I will say that if you want to oil the gears, then you are in for one heck of a job. This clock has 2 to 3 times as many gears as I've seen on other clocks, so is not for the faint of heart. And those 2 sets of gears are separated by a circuit board. The upper gears I couldn't totally separate from the top part and the circuit board.. so that the only way to get at the gears was with a set of long tweezers. Anyway, I did manage to quiet down the bell a little bit by putting a piece of wood inside the bell area, and also putting duct tape on the contact point. I'm not sure whether or not oiling the main clock gear actually quieted anything or not. Maybe it did by a little bit. Still seems a little noisier than another clock that I have that runs on AA batteries. Probably because this thing has so many gears.

Functional classic retro design
I bought this clock as a return and it arrived in original packaging and in like new condition. The clock does have a true sweep second hand with no ticking sound. It does have a very slight running motor noise which I can only hear if my head is tilted just the right way. The hands and numbers on the dial have luminous paint on them similar to what you can find on some watches which needs some direct source of light to charge. It’s just bright enough to tell the time once your eyes are dark adjusted. Overall very functional but if you are looking for something that looks expensive or impressive this probably isn’t it.

Can't read dial in dark without pressing button
Reviews were contradictory about whether you could glance at the clock during the night to quick read the clock. The answer is no. If you press the button on the top a bright light will come on but if you just want to check the time without moving and jarring yourself awake, this is not the clock for you!I ended up returning the clock, but before I did I tested out the alarm which I did not find to be alarming loud: I would probably sleep through it or start dreaming about the phone ringing (alarm sounds like a phone) as I slept through the alarm.I give the clock 3 stars because of its features, or lack thereof. On a side note, the clock arrived in a padded envelope and was a little worse for wear - the top of the thin cardboard box that was supposed to hold the clock was open and the clock scratched on the face; the battery was loose in the envelope. The clock was not bubble wrapped but the battery was. As some others have posted about this clock, I suspect this was a return that was resold as new but wasn't.

Great Product and a Great Price
Overall, very satisfied with this product. It has the quiet sweep hand technology and keeps good time. The Glow on the hands and numbers lasts for hours and hours, allowing the time to be visible almost the entire night, but not too bright that It will bother you while you sleep. After having it for a few months, there was an incident where it started making an odd noise, almost like ticking of the seconds hand, which wasn't supposed to happen, but it went away after a few hours. I do not use the alarm function, but I have read that it is located on the back of the clock and difficult to reach. Also, the alarm is supposedly very loud, but read the other reviews for a better analysis on the alarm. As a standard clock, it works wonders. Overall, for the price and the style, I would recommend this product.
