This is a jewel of a radio to use. It has three dials one of which is used to turn the radio on and control the volume. There is another to change from am to fm to short wave and one other type of reception. It can sit in the sun to absorb the sun’s energy for solar power and a hand crank to wind for power and batteries that can be recharged. The sound quality is very good and the long antenna helps to clarify your reception. This is a very useful radio to have when camping or when residing in a small village far from society. It’s orange and black color make it easy to find. It also has a large diameter light which comes in handy when operating in the dark.

Color is great. Gonna get an orange one to keep in car. Just know that the manuel does not clearly tell you where the flashlight or the SOS-button is located. The alarm started going off with it still in the box, NY bad weather coming. After 1/2 hr of alarm going, thank goodness for utube, that’s how I found out how to turn it off. Flashlight/SOS button is under the strap. Make the manual clearer. Do not just point to the light and the hand crank. They do nothing for the alarm or flashlight.

Love! Bought two, one for me and the other for a family member all in case of an emergency or to take camping. Compact, lightweight, no transistor static when turning on AM or FM radio...the clarity and quality of the sound surprised me. Better than my boom box living in my garage! Lol. Love all the modern features (ie, solar light, USB, etc) with the old, practical, survival style reliability! Haven't had to use it fully so don't know about the battery life...since it's USB chargeable. But you can also manually crank it for power if there's no battery or USB avail. The price was reasonable and the purchase was worth it. Highly recommend this particular brand!!
