Perfect book for your next road trip to a spooky castle
I wouldn't call this an Encyclopedia. If you were to flip through it in the store, you'd see it's really more of a character guide. I know Scooby-Doo Character Guide doesn't quite roll off the tongue. Maybe Scooby-Doo Case Files? Do kids even know what an encyclopedia is?It's broken down into several sections. Each of the gang and the Mystery Machine get their own entries. Then there's a few pages on family (including a Doo family tree!) and some notable friends/guest stars. Then it gets into the really good stuff: the villains! The cover claims to contain every bad guy from the classic series. I'm no Scooby-phile so I can't verify that, but considering each of the 93 pages has multiple entries, I'm going to take their word for it.Every once in awhile, one of the gang will pop up in a bubble to provide a tidbit related to the entry. Shaggy tells jokes, Velma provides case breaking clues, Daphne give facts, Fred talks about the location, and Scooby naturally talks about snacks. For better or worse, the book also includes The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. On one hand, you have Scarppy-Doo but on the other you have Vincent Van Ghoul who was voiced by Vincent Price. I can tolerate a lot of Scrappy-Doo if Vincent Price is involved! If I had to nitpick the book, my one quibble (how often do you get to use that word?) with it would be that it doesn't give any reference to the episode in which the baddie appears. Yes, I know we live in the internet age and there's probably a Scooby-Doo Wiki that can get me the info but it would have been nice to have that info in the book. That very minor thing aside, this is a really fun book for Scooby fans of all ages. While flipping through it I found plenty of classic favorite villains as well as quite a few that I didn't recognize, which is why I'd like it to have episode information. The last page even has a recipe for Scooby snacks!

The Scoobiest book of all!
First let me say I am a huge Scooby-Doo fan, and who isn't? I have all the seasons on DVD and it's my all time favorite cartoon ever. When I discovered this book I instantly bought it. This is one of my favorite source type books I have ever bought. If you love Scooby-Doo, and who doesn't? You need to own this book. It has every villain with great pictures and even their Alias characters. Really enjoy this little book and so, very worth the cost.I would have paid 3 times the asking price! Highly HIGHLY recommended!

A Great Read but doesn’t cover everything Scooby
As a diehard Scooby Doo fan since my youth, I was excited to check out this book. While I’m impressed with the info featured in this book, I feel that there should’ve been more included. Basically this book covers (almost) everything from “Scooby Doo Where Are You!” to “The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo” with only a few minor tidbits of info from “A Pup Named Scooby Doo”. The book doesn’t cover anything from the TV movies like “The Reluctant Werewolf” or “Ghoul School” nor does it have any characters or villains from APNSD (aside from Scooby’s brothers and uncles), “What’s New, Scooby Doo?”, the DTV movies like “Zombie Island” and so on. For an encyclopedia covering Scooby Doo, I wish they would’ve added info from the other Scooby series after 13 Ghosts. This is also a bit of a nitpick, but the ages mentioned in the gang’s profile pages are incorrect aside from Scooby and Daphne. Fred and Shaggy are supposed to be 17, and Velma is supposed to be 15.But aside from that, this is an excellent read for any Scooby Doo fan and especially a great book to read alongside the Scooby Doo Cookbook!

Perfect for my 4 Year-Old Brother
This book is amazing! My little brother just turned 4 and he is obsessed with scooby doo, especially the villains. The second I gave him this book he was flipping through it asking me to read about each villain to him, I think every single one is in there. It’s full of plenty of pictures and colorful descriptions for every character. It’s excellent quality and was so fun to read I was tempted to keep it myself! 100% recommend for any scooby doo fans young and old!

3 years later we’re still fans
I bought this for my son when he was 3 1/2 and had recently fallen in love with Scooby Doo. His favorite part of every episode was the villain. This book entertained him for many long car rides. Back then he’d sit and look through the pictures and tell me all of the villains names and whatever he remembered about each one. It was a favorite pick for us to read to him at bedtime too. Three years later he’s now 6 and it’s still one of his favorites. He’s seen every Scooby episode, many more than once, and can read this book on his own now. He still likes to bring it in the car and it’s been read cover to cover numerous times. It’s a must have for any Scooby Doo fan, especially if you or your little one is partial to the villains!
