Every Man Has a Woman

I had this on cassette in the Navy and vinyl at home. I never thought I’d find it on CD since the pressing was rather short run. I love this album. Eddie Money did a great job as did all the artists. This was a wonderful tapestry of styles from various artists highlighting Yoko as a songwriter to try and strip away the prejudices against her and let her work be heard by objective ears. John’s vision was brought to life and delivered impeccably. John’s cover of Yoko’s ”Every Man Has A Woman” is haunting and poignant. It being made only available on this album makes it a true treasure and a must have for any Lennon fan.

If you think you don't like Yoko Ono's music, try giving this a listen. This is a tribute to her, for her 50th birthday if I remember right. The title track is Yoko's original from "Double Fantasy," with her lead vocal stripped off and John's background cranked up. Standout tracks for me are "Walking on Thin Ice" and "Loneliness." And I was finally able to find it for a halfway decent price on here instead of the insane prices it goes for, on those rare occasions it shows up on -bay.

Collections of songs written by one artist and performed by many are the perfect way to hear how good a song writer one is. This collection of songs written by Yoko, show her gift of saying what's in her heart. Each artist interprets her songs in their own style and their passion for her songs show through. Especially Harry Nilsson, who was close to John. He recorded 3 songs of Yoko's here and has said he wished he could do more. And album of 'Nilsson sings Ono' would of been great, but alas. No one regrets having this collection of songs.It is sublime.

This album means a lot to me and I was happy to find a copy as it's getting rare
