8th album from Yann Tiersen, who scored the original soundtrack for Amelie. This album centers around the concept of stones-- a repeated theme in the work. The first single from this album will be "Midsummer Evening". Tiersen will be on tour in the US in the summer of 2014.

Fresh like gentle wind in winter, and yet it warms your heart
Yann Tiersen keeps evolving his sound in new and interesting ways, in a progression that he has maintained along his carrer. With each album (and Infinity is not the exception), he finds new ways to surprise us with emotion, always keeping things innovative and fresh.Infinity is yet another step that feels just perfect, combining a solemnity of controlled but great strenght with playfulness and cheerfulness. Thematically It revolves around stones as metaphores for infinity; dealing with its relation with memory, home, love and death, among other things. It's full of subtleties and layered sounds, eclectic yet tightly coherent. Tiersen combines masterfully an ample variety of sounds , like that of toy instruments, synthetizers and strings. Absolutely recommended, just don't expect ameli II:the revenge, do yourself a favor and be receptive of this wonderful music.

the last three <insert your description here> recordings have been a total waste. Would assert that if these three had been ...
Yann Tiersen has solidly become "yawn" Tiersen. If at all inspired, the last three albums ('dust', 'skyline', 'infinity') must have been inspired by copious quantities of Prozac. This is so-called "music" that makes elevator music seem exciting. An avid fan of everything from 'La Valse des monstres' through 'Tabarly', the last three <insert your description here> recordings have been a total waste. Would assert that if these three had been the first three efforts from this (once talented) artist, no record label would have bothered to produce the other13 recordings. It is said that "twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern". Not a good sign for the latest of the three products titled "infinity". Yes, I bought all of the last three, hoping to get something redeemable in terms of creative and talented music like the first 13 recordings.I give up. The last three releases are such that if zero stars were selectible as a rating, that would definitely be the choice.

Just OK
Most of this music is mildly droning, so good for background music.

gently swirling electronic soundscape atmospherics
Something like the 20th album from this French artist perhaps best known for his work on the soundtrack to the movie Amélie. These are grand, gently swirling electronic soundscape atmospherics with a playful subtlety that works best for me as calming background music. Choral surprises and strange sounds provide quiet interludes with an occasional splash of energy. Meditative sounds for sweet-tempered dreams.

A complete work.
An interesting piece of music to get into. Best listened to in it's entirerity, as like a score, it follows through a story from start to finish, the final track is excellent. On the second listen it made more sense. I look forward to seeing how it sounds next time.

Good album from Yann Tiersen
It has some nature sounds that are very well inserted into the album. Good vinyl quality.

bello e innovativo
Bello ascoltarlo, innovativi i mix ed i linguaggi musicali utilizzati. Una continua sorpresa come solo Yann sa regalare. Ottimo direi.

Ho scoperto Yann Tiersen per caso ascoltando un suo concerto e appena tornata a casa ho voluto acquistare il cd. E' magnifico.
