Mountian Bike Tires

We got this tire for my son’s birthday. He wanted his bike fixed up, and we also added a drink holder and a fan. This tire is great! My husband was able to install it easily, and it fits perfectly. It functions as expected, if not better than expected. The tread is great, and it looks great too. It looks well-made and durable, so I don’t think we’ll have to replace it anytime soon. My son said that it rides smoothly. We thought it came with two for some reason, so we were going to order another one, but his friends ended up getting him the same tire. The value of a good-quality tire was well worth the investment. I would recommend it to anyone in need of this size tire.

These are excellent mountain bike tires. I installed them a few weeks ago, so I cannot report on the durability, but installation was easy. The size, grip, and traction are excellent.

inherited a couple bikes with 700x42c marked on the wheels and slick tires. wanted something more substantial for mtb trails, but am not too familiar with this silly 29" trend. after some googling, and lots of contradictory info gleaned from various forums and reddit, i determined that a 29" tire would fit my rims. i was more or less right. takes a gallon of bear grease to get them on my rims, but they do go on eventually, and no worries for brake clearance because these have discs. the issue is the clearance on the rear for the front derailleur. one bike is normal size and was a no go. the other is a 21" frame for hideous giants and these fit with mm to spare. the tires roll surprisingly well and seem to grip just fine on pavement. will be another weekend before i can test their dirtability. i put a cheap bag on the frame with a tube in it, but unless i'm days out of civilization with a kokayne bear on my trail i would not try even an inner tube change without at least 3 tire spoons and a thesaurus of dirty words nearby. so again, tires are a-ok so far. probably be even better on wheels labeled 29". and they are no geax treads, but i got the pair for less than $30 so the experiment is worth it so far.

The price on these were great, <$25 for a folding tire? SOLD! Went on easy, rolls decent and turned a more aggressive mountain bike into a gravel-riding machine! Have a few hundred miles on them currently with no issues so far. Time will tell if they hold up across several seasons, but right now very pleased.

I bought these tires for a completely different purpose than what they were designed for. I used the Blackburn 29" mountain bike tire to give new life to a kids' ride-on car. The original plastic tires were getting completely bald and were also very loud on pavement. I figured I'd try using a bike tire over the existing plastic wheels, and it worked out better than I expected. The Blackburn tire added much better traction and made a surprisingly big difference in the noise level. The ride-on is now quieter and has much better grip, especially on pavement and other hard surfaces. The tread also looks great on the little Toyota ride-on. I was able to stretch the tire over the existing wheel, I cut the bead of each side of the tire so it would lay flat, I attached it with screws, and it has held up well so far. It was a much cheaper option than trying to find replacement wheels, and it gave the kids' ride-on a whole new life. Definitely an unconventional use for a mountain bike tire, but I'm very happy with the results. The pictures show the difference between the old bald wheel and the new tire setup.
