Replaced suburban 6 gallon door
Replaced suburban 6 gallon heater, door fit nicely. Does stick out a little could be a issue with a hi- lo trailer. Installed on a TrailManor.

Lack of Jardware
It’s bad enough that the frame and door must purchased separately and in addition to the water heater but there is no door gasket, paperwork of any type, or hardware… you could at least put 20 small screws in box. The only reason I bought the Girrard vice the Furion is that I’m replacing the discontinued Girrard heater from the OEM. These use poor quality copper on the heat exchanger and a lot of RV parks use well water which is very high in metallic particles, this creates an electrical current as the water flows and causes pin holes in copper tubing/heat exchanger.

Expected a Little Better Quality from Girard
The door does what it is supposed to do, cover the Girard Heater. The door itself is made of pretty thin sheet metal and bends/dents easily. The latch mechanism is a little wonky especially if you want to remove it to paint the door or swap out the latch. There is a very small coil spring that must be removed from a vey small channel in the latch to physically remove the latch assembly. It took the body shop that painted the door longer to reinstall the latch than it took to prep and paint the door itself. The latch also does not close the door securely, it will rattle in the frame when closed. Had to use a supplemental screw to secure the door.Additionally, the inside mounting holes in the frame used to attach the frame to the Girard Heater and the RV framing are very close to the front edge of the frame. They were essentially unusable on my Winnebago as the mounting screws would have scored the fiberglass shell versus screwing into the RV framing.I am very satisfied with the Girard Heater, not so satisfied with the overall design and quality of the door. Girard can do better.....

Great upgrade from Girard generation 1 water heater
Very happy with this upgrade. Our first Girard tankless wh was still working after 7 years but I wanted the new features that this new one has namely the ability to set a temp and water heater will keep water at that temp plus a digital display

Replaced my 2001 travel trailer 6 gal. Suburban water heater with a Girard tankless unit. This door fit perfectly to the new tankless unit. Was easy to install.

Fit my Girard GSWH-2 Tankless Water Heater!
This door is only to replace smaller 6 gallon water heaters so if you swap your heater to tankless and have a 10 or 12 this will not work, I did not have to cut or modify opening my opening just make sure u have a bottle of silicone to make everything waterproof and there is no hardware included so u can get new ones or reuse old one

poor fit...It did not.
This door did not fit the water heater we bought and the statistics were not clear as to which trailers fit which sizes. Now we must go to the trouble of returning this one and hope we get the correct size.

Make sure you get the right door
So long as you have the right door, it is straight forward to caulk and screw it into place.
