Good for what it's meant to do
Perfect for what I need it, heating up 16oz of water for coffee. I filled it up with exactly 16oz and it ended up being below the full line(see picture). I set the temp for coffee, the second to last temp(194) and no issues. The actual water temp was around 199.

Good idea, needs some design improvements, overall a useful appliance
Update: I upgraded the rating to 4 stars. I was able to improve the usable capacity level by removing the inside cover of the lid and removing what appears to be a piece of vinyl or plastic that was sealing the vent holes. These holes are obviously there by design to allow steam to vent through the top vent slits, but for some reason they were covered/sealed at the factory. Removing this seal enabled me to increase capacity to about 17 oz without boiling water bubbling up through the vents. I noticed some sort of corrosion occurring on the bottom inside of the kettle, but I determined that it was just lime scale. The instructions on the box said to boil with lemon & water and it will remove the lime scale, so I added 10 oz of water with a lemon wedge and set the kettle to 212 degrees F. As soon as it hit 212, I turned off the kettle, unplugged it, removed the lid and all the lime scale was gone, so this was very good news. I've only used it about 20 times and I use filtered water every time, so I'll probably have to repeat this step about once a month. This kettle works OK, but not great. First of all, the advertised capacity isnโt realistic for actual usage. The โmax capacityโ line is slightly less than 19 US oz (550ml), but if itโs filled to that capacity, water bubbles out if the hole at an alarming rate, so itโs not safe at the max capacity. After experimenting with different levels, I determined that the practical max capacity is between 15 and 16 oz (under 473ml). At 16 oz, thereโs still a slight overflow when the temperature hits boiling (212 degrees F), but it stops heating as soon as it hits 212, so only a few drops bubble out before it starts to cool, so I keep it under 16 oz. There is no way to vent the top without opening the hole cap, which is a significant design flaw IMO. It looks like there are slits in the lid designed to release steam when the hole cap is closed, but looks are deceptive. If you observe the pictures that I posted, youโll see these vents on the top circled with a red line, then youโll see a pic of the underside of the top with that same area circled with a red line, and as you can see, itโs completely sealed. The only way to vent steam (a must for safety reasons) is to leave the hole cap open, which allows boiling water to splatter all over the counter when filled over 16 oz. The other problem is that the description claims that it has โauto shut-offโ and โboil dry protectionโ, but in my test, these features didnโt work. I boiled 16oz of water, emptied the kettle completely, bumped the desired temperature back to boil (212 degrees) and left it on with no water. I checked it after 15 minutes and it was still on with no water. I received this product at no charge as part of the Amazon Vine program, so since I have no money invested (apart from income tax on the value), I will continue to experiment to see if I can find a way to improve this kettle on my own. At this point, I can only recommend it if youโre OK with the diminished capacity and no auto shut-off.

Nice to have, could use some improvements, but overall I'm satisfied
Portable: Decent portability. Doesn't fit most backpack cup holders, so most likely you'll be carrying it in a bag or backpack. Outside can still be handled with boiling hot water inside. Boil speed: It takes less than 10 minutes or so, but there's not a lot of water it can heat up, Heat up: Gets to boiling temperature just fine. Functionality: Works okay, you don't want to fill it at max capacity as the water will boil over, but just under 2 cups is fine. Kettle quality: Pretty good quality with some exceptions. There's some parts that can eventually be broken. Cord length: The length is fine.

So far, so excellent
It looks great, it's lightweight and portable, and it's easy to clean as long as you're just heating water. I've used the hardest test I can think of to prove it's worthy: making grits. Flawless. As long as it continues to work for a long time, it's worth buying. Much easier to carry around than a coffee maker, and likely will make it faster, too.

Excellent size for travel; time to boil a bit could be an issue for you.
I use this in my office to make tea. Pros: + Variable temperatures; + Portable; + With the various temperatures you can make different items from boiling water for tea (like I use mine), making cocoa, making coffee, or I imagine heating up lunch! Cons: - I would have liked a slightly bigger size given the time it takes the water to come to higher temp. I make two 12oz cups and so 18 oz is not enough and the water took almost 12 minutes to get to temp. That means it takes me 24+ minutes to make two cups of tea :( which is slower than the microwave or a bigger pot on the stove.

Variable temperature settings, auto-off, but deceptive sippy lid cold be dangerous
I have a 1.5L kettle and I wanted something a little bit smaller and more portable. This seemed to fit the bill. This heater has a couple of whiz bang features, like the adjustable water temperature, and the relatively small form factor. The size and style seems to mimic a popular trending "cup." Pros: - Easy to carry around in the included drawstring bag. - Preset water temperatures, and displays the temperature and its application, like "212" and "black tea". - auto shut off when temperature is reached. Cons: - The design is so strikingly similar to a sippable cup that it can be dangerous. There is a warning tag on the mouth of the lid that essentially says don't drink from it unless there is cold liquid in it. In my opinion, this design is flawed. Because the outside of the kettle is slightly warm, it give a false sense of temperature to the drinker. It looks like an innocuous drinking spout. I only intend to use this to boil water, so it would not personally be problematic. - When I plug the cord into the kettle, there is no feeling that it is "finished" being plugged in. It is extremely easy to pull out, and has an almost wobbly connection. I've tried plugging it in several times trying to analyze what is stopping it from being secure, and I can only guess the the plastic connector on the cord is not sized correctly to the socket on the kettle. It's a little bit too small to fit snugly. I have to listen for the kettle to beep to know I have a good connection. - The screw on lid is extremely hard to screw off. Using the carry handle may eventually break it, if I use that as leverage, so I would up screwing the lid on loosely when I boil the water. At first there was a strong smell of steel but after washing out with hot water and dish detergent, and running three boils through it, the smell went away. The jury is still out on this kettle.

Great water heater
This is a very nice travel water heater. It is basically an electrified water bottle. When we are home we rely on our electric water kettle for all kinds of tasks, and it likely the most used appliances in the kitchen. But it is glass, and large and bulky so it does not travel with us. This little bottle is durable, and easily packable. It takes a little longer to heat up then our large kettle, but has a much lower watt usage. It took about 5 to 6 min to come to temp. I really like the preset heat functions, allowing you to choose what temp you want your water to heat to. Overall I think this a great tool for being able to safely heat water when traveling, and I am very happy with this item.
