For its designed purpose it is AWESOME, useless as a sex toy and very insufficient as a hammer or torque wrench, but if you have a cast iron pot with a boiling hot lid, this will do you proud

Sturdy and compact. Heat coil disperses any conducted heat from prolonged contact. Simply built and wisely so. Can lever or hook the lid of a Dutch oven. Happy with this item.

It works. Would be ok for using on a charcoal table, but gloves will be needed. It doesn't "grab" the lid, but you can shake the coals off of the lid with practice. If cooking on the ground, get a longer one to prevent having to bend over and wear gloves. Otherwise, it's worth the price.

This works quite well once you get used to is. You don't lift straight up but slightly angled so that it keeps the lid level. Once you figure that out it works like a charm and definitely a must if you are going to cook with a dutch oven.

A must have for outdoor cooking in a Dutch oven
It worked worked well for lifting the lid of the Dutch oven as well as lifting the Dutch oven off the fire. The handle was comfortable and provided a good grip. It was already in my hand and worked well as a fire poker too. I’m pleased with it.
