I was not sure, but took the chance because of the low price. It is pretty nice for the money. The leather is about the thinnest I have seen but it is real leather and what do you expect for that price? One person mentioned that the purse smelled really bad. I thought that perhaps that person had not bought a new leather item before because they all smell. When I received the purse, I found that person was correct. The smell was really bad. I left the purse sitting out on my screened-in porch for a couple of weeks with the pockets turned as much out as I could get them. There is no longer a smell. I found that the cell phone pocket is not big enough for the newer phones or iPod, but I don't mind putting my phone inside one of the pockets. I am still able to access it readily if I don't put too much stuff in there. You will not want to make the purse too heavy because the strap is thin too. It has not broken, but it did stretch some due to the weight. I had to jetison a few things which may help my back! It seems a bit bigger than the description, and I am used to a really small purse, so this seems large to me. It does hold lots of stuff and I am getting used to the size. The only complaint I have is that the little fabric slots where you can slide in your cards are very small. It is a tight fit to get even one card in a slot. My previous purses and wallets had big enough slots that I could fit three or four in each. I have solved this by putting my most used cards in the little slots and sticking all the others(like all those stupid store cards) in a larger pocket right next to the little slots. This may be a defect only in my purse, just from it being sewn slightly off. It is not a deal breaker and I will keep it and even recommend it. It does have a lot of pockets and seems to be very well made for the price. I was a little worried that the front pouch with the organizer section would stick out and look funny, but it is actually a nice looking purse and does not look "off balanced." I wanted something with an exterior zipper compartment that sort of serves as a wallet, or card carrier. I keep one credit card, health insurance, AAA, etc. in those card pockets (don't know what to call them). I would have liked a see through place for my driver's license - but you can't have it all. Stores tell me that what I want is an out of date design. The one thing I see is a problem is the outside pocket for a cell phone. Other reviewers have commented on that issue. I have an older phone that fits in that space. If I get a 'smart phone', which I might, that outside pocket will be useless. Perhaps an in-the-bag place for a smart phone would be better since the bag is not wide enough for that size outsize pocket to accommodate a smart phone. The quality of the bag is good for the price. I would have been happy to pay more for a higher quality leather and more sturdy shoulder strap.
