The Art of the Polar Express

I was looking for a good behind the scenes look at the making of the movie. This is the book that I located.Here is the Low Down on the Book:1) Gloss Hardcover (De-Bossed with word "BELIEVE" on the Cover) - White Spine Lettering with Full Color Dust Jacket.2) Approximately 143 Pages3) Full Color Images which include - Final Artwork, Mock Ups, Concept Art, Set Design and Costume Work.4) Easy to read format with photographs generally following the text.5) Released in cooperation with Warner Brothers Studios.6) The Book Does Not Have an Index and Chaptering which lowered my rating overall by one star.7) I did purchase the Book Used. Seems to hold up to wear very well since the book is stich bound.I think this is a solid read with a nice mix of photographs and illustrations from the making of the animated motion picture. still would like more details rather than snap shot of the film. very interested in how the north pole was modeled, not much in book.

Hello, This book brings many good images. Not much character designs, sketches nor early production work, but a bunch of photo-like renders. It might be good reference source for anyone doing layout background design or realistic rendering. I think is a average book, nothing really spacial about it.

If you are a great fan of The Polar Express like me, I would suggest you buy: "The Art of The Polar Express", which is a jaw dropping 132 pages "making of"' filled with pictures from the movie as well as many characters and landscapes in different stages of development. All in all, a magical book for all!

Although the content of the book is breathtaking, the book itself is very poorly constructed. When I received my copy, the glue keeping the spine together was clearly visible and beginning to separate. The continuity necessary when a single picture took both the left and right pages was completely destroyed by this pernicious affect. In the book I received from Amazon I could see the threads that held the pages to the binding. This is not an isolated incident. The copies sold at Barnes and Noble exhibited the same level of cheap construction.What is wrong with the publisher of this book? Are they completely insane? This is a great story with beautiful Christmas imagery that is more deserving than the debasement it suffered at the hands of an administrator trying to save a buck. Shame on you!!!
